    Quotes about Angelo Dundee:

If they opened up Angelo's brain, you would find a miniature boxing ring in there---Drew "Bundini" Brown, professional boxing trainer

[Dundee] wasn't the greatest because of his fighters, his fighters were the greatest because of him---Bert Sugar, famed boxing historian

All the psychological warfare, leading into the [Berbick] fight, the trunks situation, me being fined $5,000 was pure Dundee; he knew how to psyche out opponents, he knew how to manipulate them, but for all the animosity, for that one night I despised him, now I look back and laugh at the petty ****ing bull****. Dundee was a great friend, a mentor, a father figure and one of the greatest boxing men to ever live---Mike Tyson

Going into the Sugar Ray fight, I knew Angelo had the perfect gameplan, he always did. Wilfred wasn't training properly, and Angelo called me and we talked for 2 hours about life, family, parenting, never once did he mention boxing. It was a moment and memory of just how humble and personable [Dundee] was. This was Leonard's biggest fight to date, and his trainer is gving me advice on life. Truly a great man, and I am truly blessed to call him a friend, a lifelong friend---Gregorio Benitez, father and trainer of Wilfred Benitez

Angelo was one of the best in and out of the ring Had several chats with him over the years. He said one day " You know I never really did train Muhammad he trained himself. If I wanted him to do something I'd just praise him when he did it. it always worked
    Happy Birthday Angelo R.I.P

...and the nineties Bulls and millennial Lakers would have probably still been good teams (maybe even multiple time champions) without Jackson but he was a part of that fabric of success. How much or how little is subject to debate, of course, but you can't altogether eschew crediting Dundee or Jackson any more than you can gift them full credit.
