I've heard a lot of ifs in boxing but this one is pushing things a bit. Ali was the only top heavyweight who even resembled Leonard in a 200lbs body. It's a lot more rare and difficult to be a fast heavyweight than a fast welterweight. If Leonard had been born with the frame of a heavyweight, he'd be a lot slower.

All what you say is true...Heavyweights should only be compared to other heavyweights...

If you look at his legs you can see where the strength comes from. And his 'chin'

Of course you can argue that if leonard was 200 pounds he would be a harder puncher at heavy then ali was...

    It's a redundant discussion...supposing Leonard was a Heavyweight. Ridiculous.

He was a more complete fighter than Ali, but so were many other top tier fighters. Didn't make them greater in my estimation.

I believe the first top-shelf fighter Dundee had was a gent named Billy Bossio from Pittsburgh. I'd love to get a picture of a young Angelo with his first ranked fighter....

All his guys had great chins...Leonard's beard was great before the layoffs...periods of inactivity that he had...all those comebacks.

    Here's Bossio vs Saddler:

Bossio was a very limited fighter being a 5 foot tall featherweight.

Dundee is mostly known for his work with extremely talented fighters like Ali and Leonard but in my opinion he deserves as much credit for taking limited guys like Bossio, Jordan and Ellis to the top of the rankings.

What Dundee says about Pinklon Thomas giving Tyson trouble with the jab is incorrect. Thomas got worked over in that one!

He did decent after round 1 when Tyson slowed down the pace, until getting blitzed in round 6 that is.

I'd say Thomas probably gave him the most trouble with the jab before Douglas. It was all Tyson's fight, though.

Pinko gave Tyson lots of trouble with his jab before giving-up in Round6 - BUT Tillis AND Tucker gave him teh most trouble with teh jab - BEFoRE Douglas jabbed his head off in Tkoyo by timing teh predictble head-movement. :deal:deal
