Haye will be a TOUGH fight for Wlad no matter what!He is faster than wlad, move his head really well, and is the thoughest opponent wlad could "ask" for...
Wrong game plan IMO. He should try to survive for a few rounds then just go guns blazing in the mid rounds because if it goes past 6 I doubt Haye will have the stamina to hang on.
We will see. Haye isn't that fast, 5'9 Fragomeni was able to land repeatedly on him. Watch that fight and tell me where you see Haye's great speed? He can explode, but doesn't move fast in the ring consistently. If Dundee tried to get Haye to lure Wlad into a brawl, that would be crazy. If there is on top HW with whose chin is at least as questionableas Wlad's, it's Haye.
Nobody can help Haye at this point. He has a retirement party already planned in July as soon as he gets out of the hospital.
The only person that could give Haye an edge in this fight would be a professional pizza eating contest winner. Could give Haye some valuable tips against ending up being pizza-faced!
People who reference the # of times Wlad was down and try to make an argument out of it are just clueless. Haye punch resistance is total crap just like Wlad's. Haye gets tagged and his knees turn to jelly just like Wlad. Let Haye fight 50 fights at HW and he'll be down give or take 20 times. Haye knows his chin is crap and he's living on borrowed time why else do you think he's trying to maximize his bank roll and quit before getting exposed by some random bum once again.
I don't think Haye is going to come up with anything deal with the tactical jab game Wlad's got. No matter what happens, Wlad is not going to be drawn into a brawl, he's not stupid. So he'll just jab/bore Haye to death and that'll be that. The best Heavyweight boxing has to offer!
There's a valid argument to say his chin has improved at heavyweight though. All the arguments against his chin come from his cruiserweight days when he was killing himself to make weight, and it was, unquestionably, his biggest weakness. Could he have taken the flush power shot when he was already down off Barrett when he was a cruiserweight? I think it's very hard to imagine that.
Just to be clear, I don't mean that Haye is more intelligent than Wlad. I mean that he looks pretty much comfortable and fearless around him while Wlad is half smiling/looking away into the camera objective... I imagine Haye would **** himself if it was Vitali looking at him, not so sure with Wlad. I was pissed off when Haye confronted Wlad on those stairs, insolently blocking his way, talking nothing more than publicity bull****. I so didn't like it. But I think Haye wouldn't dare to do the same to Vitali. Vitali would probably send him down the stares the hard way if he wouldn't be letting him pass. I think Wlad is really pissed off by all the Haye's tactics. I only wonder if it will be to his advantage or will he want it too much or something...
You can't lure Wlad into a brawl. Wlad will instinctively clinch anything in brawling range. If this is the plan, then they need to find a way to hurt Wlad in the clinch. Or, slip out of a clinch and go to work. That will take some serious stamina, and Haye's stamina is not that great. Given the two fighters styles and abilities...A better tactic is to use movement. Haye's lateral movement is light years above Wlad's, as Wlad has none. Constant movement will also help negate Wlad's illegal stiff arming. Then, spring into an attack on the angle. And attack hard! Then get way out of range and repeat.
