Angry he done it or angry he got caught?

    I do not feel the need to add any names to this thread. We all know of many many fighters who have been busted for peds.
    Forget (if you can) about the two disastrous fatalities in our beloved sport over the weekend as they are clearly making people more sensitive on the subject atm.

    Think of you're favourite current boxer; now imagine waking up to the knowledge he has failed a drug test.
    Are you angry your favourite fighter has tricked you into supporting him, while being extremely unsure if anybody else is on peds, as your favourite fighter couldn't have been proven to be taking drugs if he hasn't failed a test.

    Sum up these emotions.

    Two days later the world of boxing come together and announce "We are sick and tired of regulating drug use in combat sport, from now on you can all use what you like, we aren't bothering with you any more."

    Do you forgive your favourite fighter?

    Or more specifically, fighter fails drug test on the night, wins the fight.
    A little later on it's revealed both fighters were on peds that night, level playing field. Is it more forgivable then?

    Personally, it doesn't bother me too much when multi millionaire fighters take peds as I believe they are all taking drugs in every sport at a certain level.

    In a white collar fight I had once, I knew full well the guy was popping fat burners and testosterone boosters. I wasn't at all comfortable with it, the geezer was 6 stone heavier than me so in fact I was shitting myself. But I feel more sorry for the guys fighting drug cheats for rent money, not ppv money.

    Honestly, I already think so many do it, I don't care a whole lot.

    I'm much more annoyed that Rivas wasn't even informed of it before the fight.

    You think though someone like David Price, didn't Thompson pop for a test during their fight?

    So that cheat has entirely changed Prices entire career. I know he is hardly fighting to pay the rent but minus that fight what could have been?

    You either need an option that they are all on it, and the big medicine companies sponsor everything. Or a simple you fail and you are out system.

    I don’t fanboy boxers to the extent that I get angry if they fail a test or lose.

    I support a football team though and if it happened to one of our star players it would be pretty devastating because he’d be getting banned.

    I don't really. I've put it this way to avoid a match room / queensbury debate. I'm sure there is at least one fighter you'd be gutted for them to fail a test or lose to a fighter who's popping.

    Nah not me. I’m one of these people who believes that every elite athlete takes PEDs so I’m not shocked at all when a story like this breaks.

    One of my favourite fighters of all time is Haye and I’m educated enough to understand that he was a doped athlete.

    Huge numbers of non competing people take PEDs.....i am astonished the reaction of naive people to the revelation that a pro may 'cheat'...

    I don't really care if they use or if they get caught.

    What bothers me is the lack of transparency from all parties concerned, the inconsistency of the punishments doled out to various fighters, and the hypocrisy on every level.

    I know mate. Average joes nowadays are taking massive amount of drugs so that they can impress some slags in Marbella for one week in July yet the general public find it incomprehensible for an athlete to take drugs when there are millions of pounds in earnings at stake.

    It is bizarre...

    They want skinny men to ride push bikes hundreds of miles up a mountain on weetabix
    Or them to run as fast as a horse or jump higher than a frog by eating their 5 a day....

    i worry about what else these peoople believe in

    I basically think it's so prevalent it doesn't matter....

    The only thing that bugs me is guys like Whyte who is now a multi time cheat having the cheek to talk smack about other dopers. Billy Joe is another clown in this respect.

    Yer he put Lucas Brown throught the ringer yet he probs was doped up to the eyeballs while doing it..

    I don't get emotional about fighters

    At the end of the day I'm not getting a cent of their purses and I belive taking validation from someone's successes because they were born in the same general area as you is just weird.

    But I feel anyone on any sort of PED is a cheater and ought to be banned
