Angulo: A poor mans Margarito

    At first physical appearance I couldn't help but notice, not only do they look alike, but they also fight in a similar fashion. They both border on crude slugger/pressure fighter, lack any real defense (their offense is their defense), have great chins, are good at cutting off the ring, have good to great power.

    The title is a little misleading, but given their similarities who wins at 154. For my 2 cents I'd go with Angulo, I know Margarito was more prime at 147 and has faced better opponents than Angulo, and their 1 common opponent Cintron, Angulo lost to and Margarito stopped him, but I think Angulo is the naturally bigger man, and would eventually ware Margarito down. Thoughts.

    Although I feel Margarito was a much better fighter technically, both only come across as crude because they are slow as turtles.

    Specially Margarito. His punch placement was excellent. Lacked the defense because he would get countered easy and could not move fast enough to avoid punches.

    I favor Margarito by decision.

    I agree that Margarito is(was) more technically sound, but I think Angulo has the ability to take away Margarito's technical advantage by pure pressure. If he was able to somewhat neutralize Lara's technical advantage by cutting the ring off, I think he'd do the same to Margo. I like Angulo in a late brutal stoppage.

    Margarito was ordinary at 154. At 154 his size ,strength and punching power was not determining factor at that weight.

    hard to say who would win. are we going margarito with or without plaster? at 154 i favor angulo to be honest.
