Watching Angulo last night didnt particularly impress me but the fact he found a way to knockout a clearly invigorated Julio, combined with his superb chin, stamina and punching power, got me thinking about another potential Mexico-Puerto Rico classic that could be made in the next year or 2. Would Angulo perform "the Margarito" on Cotto, or would Miguel find it in him to beat "El Perro"?
I dont think Angulo is ready for that yet. But I am talking about Cotto at the top his game. We still need to see how much Miguel Cotto is left.
Cotto against any big punching junior middleweight is a bad idea for his career. Foreman and Spinks - the only two guys Cotto should even consider fighting at the weight.
this version of cotto would get starched by angulo, cotto just isnt the relentless pressure fighter he used to be since anvil hands ruined him. cotto would have early success but it would only be a matter of time before angulo lands that bomb.
Cotto, to my eye, doesn't have the legs anymore to box someone like Angulo, which would be his only chance to win. He doesn't have the firepower and his chin has always been suspect, even at Jr. Welter. KO somewhere between the 6th and 9th round.
