Discuss taking into account how Cotto looked tonight. Maybe a fight against Cintron would also work.

This is a bad fight for Cotto. Cotto should stay away from plodding Mexican come forward types, especially those who are naturally bigger than him. It's gonna be Margo all over agan.

Cotto should stay clear of Angulo, Kirkland and PW. Only unless there is a huge purse should he fight any of these guys. Cotto should fight Martinez, Cintron or Dzinziruk imo.

    These are both likely scenarios.

I can't decide which one would happen. :think

I mean if Cintron could outbox Angulo, why wouldn't Cotto be able to do it?

If Cotto fights as passively as he did tonight, I'm afraid Angulo would just walk him down while throwing barrages and stop him mid to late. Angulo is like Margarito-lite but at 154 he has all the advantages over Cotto.

I don't think he fought 'passively'. He just took his time and didn't force things.

With Steward in his corner, he can outbox him and do some real damage later on. He's similar to Margarito, but not nearly as devastating.

the more i think about it, im really liking cottos chances in this matchup. angulo is the stronger of the two, but cotto is the smartest. if cotto can apply smart pressure on angulo (i.e. stay at mid range setting everything up wtih his jab) then he would have a chance. i'd advise heavily against engaging in a firefight with angulo, but at the same time angulo doesnt exactly pick his shots as wisely as cotto does. so the key to cotto winning this would be smart pressure.

Angulo fights like a lesser version of Margarito, he brings the pressure and stamina but I don't think his skills are good enough to beat Cotto. I think Cotto outboxes Angulo, and the jab would be the key.

Angulo by KO/TKO. Too big, strong and relentless.

I think from here on out it's going to seem like all Cotto fights that are against up-and-comers will seem like 50/50 fights...this one is no different.

Angulo isn't as talented as Margarito. However, I still didn't like how easily Cotto got tagged tonight against Foreman. That may be ok against a relatively inactive and featherfisted fighter like Foreman but Angulo's a different animal, if Angulo tags him Cotto might be in trouble.

If Cotto's patient, boxes intelligently, and has proper conditioning he can win an easy decision.
