Quite a few words but please read and if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this injury I have: Basically had a problem with my ankle/foot for more than 3 years now, partly due to work on ladders i was doing. (i think anyway) Went to the doc and all they say is arthritis. Have tried ankle supports, which didnt work. Also have tried footwear with better sole support which helped with a bit of pain in my knees i was getting but the ankle/foot injury remains. I dont work off of ladders anymore. I waited on the physio list for a year and a half and they thought at first it was something called sinus tarsi and gave me leg excersizes to do to strenghten muscles. Now they think it might not be this and have sent me for an MRI. I have been training and doing these excersizes but not with any real results. It doesent stop me from training but the pain is just there, i dont know whether i've learned to put up with it to a certain extent or what. However after training/in the morning or during the day sometimes it is absolutely excruciating and is slowing me down at work. Also where i dont "land" on my right foot properly because of the injury i have started getting a bad right knee due to this. The same with putting more weight on my left etc/ Basically i would just like some of you guys to tell me what you think i should do??? ie - stop training, keep training or if anyone has had a similair problem how did they overcome it. I had the MRI on it last friday, which hurt alot to keep the foot in the same position for 30 mins but i'm not holding my breath as i dont think they will find anything. I just dont know what it is. Somebody please help!!!
I assume you are running and skipping? You need to do something low impact like swimming instead. Without knowing what you are doing that's hurting it, it's hard to say.
Thanks Amy, Yes i am running and skipping and doing circuits, but now it is so bad i have had to stop for now. I will try and just swim now although sometimes it hurts when i kick the foot out whilst swimming. Its just so frustrating when u really want to train, it gets me really down! Thanks anyway
