An announcement is set for 1.30pm local time in Brisbane (2.30pm AEDT).

(that is 2 hours from now)

Jeff Horn's promoters, Duco, have been in the US holding discussions with Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter.

It's believed they have signed a conditional agreement that allows planning for the fight to go ahead.

It's not clear where it will be held, and though Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium is the preferred venue, a bidding war is likely to begin with Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide also in contention.

Oh man, I dont want Horn to fight Pacman yet. Im a big fan of Jeff Horn and I think a lot of Joseph Parker fans have turned their sights to the Australian stinger. Of all Parkers undercards, he sets the boxing level very high which is often unmatched by the rest of the fighters throughout the fight night. Pacman is a huge step up.

Sounds like Pacquiao is only planning on 3 more fights :

Pacquiao may also fight in Russia and the UK

Bob Arum wants Manny Pacquiao to go on a world tour this year with stops planned in Australia, Russia, and England.

“Right now, we are only looking at Australia,” said Arum.

Unless a deal-breaker crops up, Arum is looking first at Pacquiao bringing his act to Australia - against Jeff Horn.

If Pacquiao is victorious against Horn, Arum sees him showcasing his talent twice more.

“Russia wants Manny there and England is also interested,” said Arum.

“This is going to be a fun year.”

It would be a huge step up for Horn that's for sure, and probably amounts to taking your chance while it is there because you may not get another one.

A loss on your record to Manny would hardly be a career ender though, and it should come with a very nice pay packet attached to it.

    Duco land Manny Pacquiao fight

Dean Lonergan and Duco Events have pulled off a major international coup by securing a world title fight for their Australian prospect Jeff Horn against the legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao.

The bout for the WBO welterweight title will be announced at a press conference in Brisbane this afternoon at Brisbane's riverside Regatta Hotel.

(New Zealand media already running with it)

I guess its time to unleash Horn onto the world stage. Win or lose for Jeff it'll be a good fight. Pacman is a whole lotta ass whipping but Ill be hoping for a Horn knockout victory.
