Juan and his trainer say hes never been a knockout artist. its the timing & accuracy that creates the power. also much of his ko's were accumulative. :deal

Juan is not a puncher, but hes a brilliant tactician and the best counter puncher IN THE GAME (PERIOD).

The timing is what killed the Pacmonster

Already weakened by an overhand right.

    All Hail JUAN!

Love both guys though. Fire & Ice.

Shame both have probaly been involved with PEDS - along with Mayweather at some point in their careers.

add a lunging opponent coming at you at full speed and not expecting such a shot and you have a brutal one punch KO...one that will get the KO of the year award. :good

Counted at least 6 One Punch KO's so far.

When was Pacquiao's last One Punch KO before Hatton?

so marquez hits harder then pacquiao :huh your using illogical comparisons / statistics here. high KO% doesnt mean 1 punch ko power, too many variables. Your not agreeing with Juan himself. He's not a weak puncher but he's never known to be a PUNCHER. BUT he can knock guys out by timing them perfectly with a punch or counter shot, at which he is brilliant.

Never said he hits harder, although he does have a higher KO% than Pacquiao. Combine that with Juan (probably) having more career One Punch KO's. Yet it's ok for Pacquiao to flatten Hatton after moving up in weight, but it's suspicious when Juan does it? :huh

You see what I'm getting at?

well whats shocking is that Juan flattened Pacquiao who is known to have an iron jaw. Ricky hatton never had a chin like that, and pacquiao was already an amazing puncher to begin with.

you just dont see people knocking down pac like that, especially a guy who isnt known to be a big puncher in the past. That's whats got people wondering.

But personally , like I said you cant accuse anybody without proof - they deserve the benefit of the doubt. the bottom line is it was an amazingly timed, monsterous shot.

    This iron jaw?

Yes, that's Pacquiao knocked down and cross eyed by a JAB.

And yes, I know, circumstances etc. But a jab is a jab.

At the very least it proves that the dynamics of every punch and the effect it has on the opponent are different every time. Which again has relevance in the Juan KO.

^ you cant compare that pac to todays pac. Fighters change and adapt with time. Chins can be conditioned and improved, look at Ali. U dont believe pac would get knocked down by a punch like that today do you?

Chins can improve and chins can dis-improve. Especially when you've got a S&C coach admitting he was barely used during training.

    See 'chin prime'. ;)

You could see him going for the same shot at 6:17.

Marquez had some interesting phases in development. First, he was a well-balanced boxer-puncher who led often. Then he transitioned into a pure counter-puncher. He found a decent balance between the two in his prime, then as he got older started changing levels instead of just using his ring generalship with an upright stance in order to deal with bigger fighters in the pocket. On top of that was his willingness to trade more often to gain public appeal was obvious, only for him to put on a boxing clinic in the 3rd bout.

A testament to his intelligence and knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport in general. The guy can do it all.

By the way Bogo, I don't know if you saw that playlist on youtube, but it's got every fight of Juan's that was ever televised practically. Glorious viewing.
