Guys like Gene Fullmer and Lamotta had some similarities but not enough imo. Fullmer had that cross arm guard that was pretty different from Marciano and Lamotta did crounch like Rocky but he didn't have the ko power that Rocky had. Maybe Graziano but Marciano was a way better fighter.

I think JCC could’ve belonged here but he could lose his composure and get trigger happy and square up. Strictly talking about footwork I think Napoles is there king.

Possibly Qawi might have the closest similarities to Marciano with his shorter stature and subtle ability to get under those punches.

That's a good should too. He didnt posses the 1 punch power that Marciano did, but then none of these comparisons are perfect.

A Qawi, McGovern, Beterviev, hybrid then ;-)

For sure Greg, as compared to ALL 3, Louis is/was top dog in all departments including, imo, in regards to the topic of the moment for Louis - defence. KT wasn’t awful but I felt that he somewhat abandoned whatever decent ,fundamental defensive measures he had earlier in his career - in greater deference to out and out staking and getting home the big shots. With a terrific AM background, KT looked even more pristine early in his pro career imo.
