By the way, Beterbiev and Bivol shouldn't fight each other. They are both Russians. They should fight Western fighters. It is always more thrilling to see East vs West.

East vs East isn't interesting. And it won't generate revenue either. I'd like to see Bivol vs Spence Jr at 168 and Beterbiev vs Benavidez at light heavyweight, instead of Bivol vs Beterbiev.

 

Especially in the same division where the clear top 2 guys with all the belts has failed to fight each other in the past. Roy Jones Jr vs Dariusz Michalczewski undisputed fight didn’t happen and Sergey Kovalev vs Adonis Stevenson didn’t happen. This fight needs to happen..

 

I get that, but it’s been clear that these two guys are not fighting each other next and I think this is a great way to set up their fight.

If after the Smith/Buatsi fights these two don’t fight each other, then yes, that would be a big load of bs.

Smith is Beterbievs mandatory. If Smith doesnt want to step aside, then Beterbiev would have to give up his belt.

 

Not if the WBC grant an exemption for unification which they would but it seems that offer isn't even on the table for Hearn.
