Ricardo Lopez is one of my favs and hes quite underrated. His comp wasnt great but he beat the best in his division. Guys like alex sanchez, voraporin, alvarez were the best guys around and he beat all 3. He also beat a guy went on to defeat humberto gonzalez and become a champ for 4 years.

 

1. Rocky Marciano - Probably the most determined fighter in history. Maybe he wasn't the most perfect example of a boxer, but he took what he had and turned it into a legacy.

2. Ali. This guy's mouth was probably the most irritating of any boxer that has ever lived. The only problem is, he backed up his mouth in the ring with profound skill and determination. It's kind of like a love him or hate him thing.. as it is with greats from any sport. Ali just had too many skills to ignore for me.

3. Joe Louis. He was THE gentleman's champion. He let his own skill speak for itself in the ring. Perhaps the greatest in HW boxing history, yet he was humble and sincere. If a young person ever needed a sport hero to admire, Joe Louis is the guy!

4. Marvin Hagler. He just went at it during his career and got it done. Often criticized during his boxing career for not facing much, he took the criticism in stride. He was a gentleman's champion, in my view, much like Joe Louis. I still wish I could go back in time and watch Marvin live during all of his fights!

5. Roberto Duran. While he wasn't the most "polished" regarding an attitude or two, he is a favourite of mine. I'm not getting into a debate regarding what he accomplished... suffice it to say he was a great, modern, p4p fighter that all should admire.

 

'86-'89 Mega Tyson. He revived my interest in the sport and from the moment I saw him, I knew he was something extraordinary.

Rocky Marciano. A human pitbull in the ring, but a gentle, kind man outside it.

Joe Louis. A class act in and out of the ring.

Iran Barkley. The typical 'Rocky' story. Take that, Thomas Hearns.

Bert Cooper. He was one of those fighters I just 'clicked' with.
