Really, Rez? A legend? He did his job against a totally unwilling opponent. Nothing more, nothing less. Let me know when he fights a top 5 guy like a champion should.

 

He's fighting bums, and has trouble when the opponent has just a smidget of talent. I don't get excited over cans getting KO'd.

Ortiz took a **** test while taking a drug that isn’t cleared? What kind of massive oversight is that? And it takes some imagination to think that Wilder got lucky there. If you’ve seen his interviews and can’t tell that he was seriously hurt by that setback, I don’t know what to say.

You think Ortiz will beat him with his counters?
The fight still might happen. And I’m certain that prediction will not come true.

Ortiz is to my eye the exact type of guy Wilder wants no part of. Just as long and a southpaw who likes to counter and body punch. It's possible Wilder could outspeed the big fella but Wilder lives up to his namesake when combos start flowing.

 

So who is the onus on then?

 

I would say it's on the testers. You know the guy is cuban and speaks spanish, give him a form in spanish. It should not be difficult for WADA(?) or USADA to communicate the questions to the fighter directly via their own interpreter or a simple form in spanish. They should be getting answers directly from the fighter. Not a manager, not a promoter but the fighter himself. If Ortiz could read and fill out the form himself this absolute nonsense could have been easily avoided.

 

I could them needing to improve their communications for sure.

But something doesn't add up here.
If the substance that Ortiz got caught with isn''t actually a PED, why does it show up in the test?
And also, why wouldn't VADA or the WBC quickly go "Ah, it was his medicine," and not call off the fight?

You would think that it isn't in their interest to lose money on a cancelled event over a simple error.

 

Wow talk about reaching for an excuse,Professional athlete with all the trainers managers etc. they have takes banned substance for the second time and you want to use his ethnicity as an excuse lol GTFO with that ****. Only a complete moron would take a risk with his career and a world title shot by putting something in there system when there is plenty of ways to check the banned substance list. Probably would of taken few minutes to check

 

No it all adds up he took a banned substance and the fact he had been banned before for steroids shows he is a drug cheat who didn't learn his lesson and deserves the penalty
