Another Fighter Gives Up

    Yes Cotto was very tired and losing the fight but he just quit. What is going on?

    I don' think he quit, His corner threw in the towel first of all. It did break my heart when he took that first knee though. Cotto still my fave boxer

    I wouldn't say he didn't quit.

    But i wouldn't criticise him for it as he was getting destroyed at that point.

    Cotto didn't quit! Give the man some credit. He has a famliy to think about and you can get killed in there....he took his beating like a true warrior and fought like a champion should. The man deserves respect, not criticism.

    How did he quit if he was done? There was no way he could have kept on fighting.

    He basically refused to engage in the fight any further. That is more or less quitting, the fight should have been stopped anyway he just didn't look right mentally by that point.

    He put in a great effort and i was rooting for him, but you can't win them all and Margo was a true warrior on the night, he was a monster.

    I didn't see the doctor rush in to aid him. The ref would have intervened if he was hurt. The truth is that he gave up. I'm not asking him to fight to the death but just sitting down is pathetic.
