I know that's not that valid a point. The guy is still an top 50 ATG even without FOTY honor. However, you have to question his appetite for combat. Sure, it's not a requirement to get hit in the face when not necessary, but when your back's on the wall and the guy in front of you wants to take your head off, you've got no choice but to fire back. In the past, even the guy who is defensive oriented and not known for punching power had FOTY participation. Willie Pep Even the man who's philosophy is hit and not get hit had four. Muhammad Ali Hell, even his former opponent Marquez has one. What would it take for him to have one, perhaps facing a guy who would apply non-stop pressure and take him places he hasn't been before. Would he take that kind of fight? Doubt it.
It's to the guy's credit that he wins clearly enuf to not have been in a FOTY. Can't logically bash him for it.
