I knew there was a terrible stoppage I remembered him previously for, there it is! Interesting that Dilks fell back and bounced on the ropes without being really hurt similar to Groves.
This is a standard stoppage for a British referee. Until the media pundits stop covering for the officials and start highlighting the issue as an ongoing theme (rather than a one off as in the Groves case) it will continue. What happened to Watson and Mcclellan 20 years ago can't excuse everything. Safety is paramount but there has to be some common sense as well. People pay money to watch this stuff.
The comparisons to the Abdusalamov fight are incredible. Did The Hearn Brigade not watch that fight? The poor ******* took hundreds of unanswered punches, round after round. Groves, in comparison, probably took ten clean head shots in the whole fight.
