Another indication that Usyk will make a fine heavy.

Don't think that Joe Joyce is a indicator of how well Usyk does at heavyweight myself. Considering he's had just one professional fight, and doesn't look like a huge puncher. . Wouldn't surprise me if Joshua's long lost brother Daniel Dubious, starches out Usyk in the next couple of years if they both meet. Another Adamek in the making.

Usyk doesn't have the power imo to make a big impression at heavyweight. He has fast hands and feet, great stamina and so far has shown to be very durable as a cruiser. However, unless he can make a heavyweight respect him, someone will walk him down at heavy. Povetkin would be a nightmare matchup for him imo. Joshua he could outbox for awhile but not for a full 12 rounds I would think. I still want him to make the jump though if he wins the tournament. Dare to be great and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Same. While Briedis is class, he had too easy of a time getting around Usyks guard.

Yeah if he’s there to pick up a pay day then sure but I don’t think he hits hard enough to beat Joshua or Wilder, not sure about Ortiz we would have to see how he does with Wilder.

Lol I doubt anyone is gunna strip AJ however like you said, I think the only way AJ loses a belt is if he doesn’t fight a tough mandatory with one organisation and takes a fight with an easier mandatory. I’m not an AJ hater but that makes the most sense business wise and the fan boys will still flock to his fights.

I wasn’t impressed with Briedis’s balance or punch variety and yet he tagged Usyk often, especially early and late in the fight. Usyk might get brain damage vs the best heavyweights. His lack of power belongs at cruiser imo.

Dude has skill, no question. If his chinny chin chin can hold up, he should do very well, but that is the big question mark. The big boys at the top of the division are sleeping much larger men than Usyk. Either way, I will be rooting for him. Guys that move up a and challenge themselves will always get my respect. That being said, I fear he gets taken out by the likes of AJ and DW.

He was caught and didnt go down. Bridies is a powerful puncher as could be seen when he brutally knocked out Charr, one of the present org heavy weight champs.
Usyk 's chin is great. Yesterday's fight proved to me that he is able to beat anyone at the big boys ' league. I wouldnt favour him over Joshua but I do would favour him over any other present heavy.
Povetkin is old,Wilder a pathetic paper champ with a laughable fight record,Fury a fat freak who will never come back,Parker just lacks the skills to compete with Usyk.Who else is out there who can be favoured over Usyk????

It's incredible as Briedis was seen as an 'easy win' for Usyk pre-fight, but now he being labelled as 'One of the best'.

Many predicted the kind of win for Usyk which would demonstrate what boxing fans like to refer as 'levels'.....

    Face it, he didn't.

There was very little in it, whether it be power, footwork, engine etc etc

He demonstrated nothing to be considered P4P worthy.

Let's be honest here, you lot were all thinking usyk was gonna box briedis' head off like tyson fury vs klitschko or something. He doesn't fight like that. And everyone thought briedis was average. Usyk tries to fight like lomachenko, but he doesn't have the ballet-trained movement that Loma has. That's why when usyk tries to use a similar style to him, it doesn't quite work as well.

That automatically makes the fight a close-up battle and most of the time, a back and forth type of fight. Usyk had nowhere to run. Because he couldn't run. If something is back and forth, the fight is always going to be viewed as 'close'. Briedis was trying to fight against Usyk's guard. Anyone who has good offensive presence can fight against that kind of style. Look at wilder for example. He's great at breaking down high guard fighters.

I wouldn't judge usyk too harshly on this performance. Briedis is clearly an elite cruiserweight, or at very minimum world level.

At heavyweight, he becomes slow. He therefore has to rely on using the high guard even more. Wilder is going to be a nightmare for him because wilder has the experience of fighting high guard opponents. He just uses the jab, sets up the right hand. Wilder round 9 TKO or Points Decision 8 rounds to 4 for wilder.

I see the parker fight as a winnable one. Parker is a similar build to usyk. Just a bulky warrior, like takam. I fancy usyk getting a close decision on this one. Parker's aggression will help win him some rounds, but usyk will probably be similar in terms of movement against a light parker. As we saw against Razvan Cojanu, parker struggled to break him down when the high guard was up, he was out of ideas most of the time. Usyk's chin is good enough to hold up to parker. Usyk 7 rounds to 5.

Joshua is too big for him. He's a giant in comparison to usyk. I don't favour anyone in world boxing to fight up close with a physical beast like joshua, cruiserweight or heavyweight. I think Joshua knocks him down in the middle of the fight. Joshua TKO round 6.

I think most people deep down realize this but do not want him around their boyfriends at HW.

I don’t think there’s enough evidence to say he’s going to easily become a HW champ. I do think he’s the goods but I can’t see him beating Josh or even Wilder. It will be interesting to see him travel North at some point.

Why can’t you see him beating Joshua or Wilder? What weaknesses does Usyk have that those two limited HW’s can exploit?

Usyk is smarter, quicker on his feet, better endurance, great chin and very quick hands. Did I say he was also smarter?

Everryone should AT LEAST admit Usyk is a huge threat to Joshua.
