When you start something, you need to make a splash.

Days Inn USA/Matchroom USA isn’t going to thrive off WBSS (small, hardcore audience for mostly Euro fighters) and UK fights (current UK Matchroom fighters). It just isn’t.

What other sports that people in America care about are they offering? No NFL, no Major League Baseball, no NBA, no college sports, etc. What, darts?

Who, exactly, are the fighters that U.S. want to see? No, excuse me, will PAY to see?

We’ve seen Eddie come out and say he was announcing eight big signings in June. Then it was July. Then August. And so far it’s a couple of ho-hum signings that do not in any way move the needle.

What happened to the Charlos? Mikey Garcia? Wilder? All the names that were floated. Does he even still have shopworn JC Chavez Jr.? (Haven’t heard about that one for some time, his original BIG name lol.)

When you come out and say you have a BILLION DOLLAR DEAL that is going to CHANGE BOXING FOREVER ... you don’t follow up with geriatric Tomas freaking Adamzek who everyone reasonably assumed was retired. You spend some of that money, whatever it takes, and make a statement.

Your best chance to create buzz, to make an impression, is your first fight card. It needs to be a spectacular, not something even hardcore fans wouldn’t watch for free.

A big step backwards for Miller in terms of quality of opponent.

Maybe he would have been better sticking with HBO who were spending money to get him good opposition.

But then again, they don't have Joshua.

The most important thing of all for Miller is that he is active. This fight ticks that box but that's about it.

It's a let down when you consider the tough fights some of the other top heavies have been willing to take.

Given how he's placed (close to a title shot), perhaps it's understandable.

I'm a big Danny Roman fan, so even though I wanted him to unify with Dogboe I'll watch him whip McDonnell's ass.

I dont know why people are complaining about Adamek, Wilder just fought a 39 year old Ortiz and Joshua is about to fight a 39 year old Povetkin.

Its a healine Pole who is still ranked top 15 by boxrec in a Polish/American fighting city, who did you thinking Miller would be fighting in Chicago? Joe Hanks? Cojanu? Molina? Pianeta?

You have to be able to sell the fight and card aswell. Adamek or Ugonoh fits the bill perfectly.

Hoping Adamek can turn back the hands of time and outpoint Big Baby, but not likely. Its a good name to add to the resume (late or not) and it'll likely draw some huge attendance numbers. If Hearn is smart, he will throw a couple more Polish fighters on there and really make it an event.

Something about Miller really gets my back up,turning up bigger every fight, eating cheese burgers.
Should be looking to fight Wilder instead of the level he’s used to,all his opponents are the same with a name we all just about know but rubbish basically.

Exactly this, typical Miller/Hearn opponent, make sure he’s got a bit of a name but washed up and ready to be bulldozed, shouldn’t be classed as a win imo.

Did you just compare Adamek with Ortiz and Povetkin?
