Eleider Alvarez, was supposed to fight Green in July but his fat ass didn't bother making weight:-( What do you guys think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIg0jrjIg5o

If anything he kinda reminds me of Kovalov in how he throws his flurry's, really good straight puncher as well

:good I believe so as well, I think that was Green's way of saving himself from yet another humiliating beatdown.

he reminds me more of Stevenson than Kovalev tbh, but looks like a more talented version of Stevenson

hopefully he will start fighting better guys soon, shame he didn't get to annihilate Green to put himself on the map

It' impossible to tell from 3 seconds of a fight. - And there doesn't seem to be ANY of his full fights on YouTube.

He does seem to have a VERY fast right, but also (if you go by this clip, which is somewhat foolish) a very sloppy left.

Wake me when he fights a credible opponent and we'll talk.

I'm not a fan of triangle theories but isn't that a Shawn Hawk UD on his record. The same Shawn Hawk that Nathan Featherly KOed a few months later? Perhaps not the biggest puncher then, though I've heard some OK things about him. As has been pointed out, footage seems hard to come by.

There's about 3 or 4 of his fights posted on dailymotion and I've watched two, here's one if you wanna check it out: http://dai.ly/xyhjbb

What foolishness are you talking about? And if the clip is too short to determine the precision of his left then how did you come to that conclusion? Also considering he only threw two lefts in that sequence. He's actually known for having a very sharp jab.

Well typically up and coming fighters tend to fight a couple of scrubs before they step foot on the world stage, that's kind of what makes a 'PROSPECT' last time I checked. And as mentioned in my OP he was scheduled to fight Green in July which is a massive step up in comp. And for only 12 fights in his career he's fought some pretty stiff fighters.

    Yeah, ABC **** doesn't work.

Alvarez is a beast and would probably KO lots of guys Cleverly outpointed. Hawk stayed in his shell all that night, and still was nearly taken out a few times (trapped on the ropes in the fifth, and knocked down in the twelfth)
