Kevin Mitchell isn't having much luck with opponents.

According to british boxing net, he will now face venezuelan Edison Torres (W41 L33 D4) next after Carl Johanneson's replacement Thomas Aryeetey also pulled out.

Torres is game, but a bit of a punchbag. I Expect Kev to stop him fairly handily.

Small tak is without doubt the best fight on the card now, and to be fair I dont like Small and tak has gone very lethargic. Small will probably outbox him to a fairly uninspiring points win.

Bit unlucky for Kevin, he should KO this guy quick and then fight very soon, March latest.
2 fights last year was ridiclious for someone his age.

I gave up my chance to go to this fight once Johanneson pulled out - not regretting that now!

Terrible luck for Mitchell. Dodged a bullet when my mate couldn't get us tickets for this the other week.

Poor Kevin - I feel for him - and Setanta must be REALLY pissed off about it.

Torres looks durable - seems to be able to go the distance and took Kiko Martinez to a points loss.

Rumour has it Thomas Aryeety withdrew as he failed his BBBofC medical.

    yeh he did.

This guy has lost 27 times but of those hes only been stopped in 4 of them so he can prbs take punishment. If Kev can stop on in 3 rounds it will show what a big puncher he is.

Really frustrating time for Mitchell with one opponent after another pulling out.

Hope they can get the Johanneson fight back on asap.

Here's a little teaser , what do all of the first 6 men to beat Torres have in common ?

And more specifically the first 4 men to beat him ?

who was that tall blonde guy who fought on the Arthur - Foster undercard? Great technique but not much pop? I'd like to see Mitchell fight him

    I feel sorry for Mitchell.

He clearly wants the big fights and should be up there with Khan in the popularity stakes but because Khan got the silver medal in the olympics is getting all the attention.

I really like Mitchell and think he can go to world level but he really needs to be getting the big fights now to prove his ability.

Torres is obviously coming to get walked over. He has lost his last 7 fights and is taking the fight in 3 days notice. Mitchell should be knocking him out easy. 25 fights into pro career whats Mitchell doing looking to fight for the British title, really time to step it up.

I would agree, which is why I'm more of an Amir fan now.
For his 16th fight Mitchell fought Daniel Thorpe, the same guy Khan got critcized for fighting in only his 4th fight as an 18 yr old.
