we all saw it when mayhem miller called em out, diaz is a ****ing *****! there is fear in his heart. he has a gangster mentality, which means pride>all. To get his ass beat in front of everybody would ****ing destroy him mentally. I've seen it happen to "gangsters" in my neighborhood.

He didn't pay the fans back the money they spent to see him get the floor mopped with him though... :deal

Who are you going with Rob? GSP, UD? I see no other out come if I'm honest.

GSP via doctors stoppage (cuts) is my hunch. GSP UD is the smart pick, though.

    Cheering for Nick.

All these backstage UFC spats, no shows and dressing downs are orchestrated bull**** and I take them all with a pinch of salt. This is the side of the UFC I really hate as it's too similar to WWF. Dana knows that if the sport is to continue growing it has to reach more casual fans and the best way to do that is with controversy and selling fighters back stories. Like when Jones 'refused' to fight Sonnen. All of a sudden there was a bit of interest in this fight even if it is a horrible mismatch. Then they end up being coaches on TUF. So TUF gets a boost, the fight gets a boost and the fact that there are very few challenges left for Bones at LHW is swept under the carpet for the best part of a year while they try make a case for Glover and a few others to challenge for the title.

Don't you understand that Dana is the source of all evil, and NOTHING happens in the UFC without his scheming to set it off? :patsch

Hendo didn't even injure his knee. Injuries in training camp don't just happen. Dana made Hendo lie about it as part of yet another evil plot to destroy everything good in the sport. And you KNOW, or at least you SHOULD know if you are any kind of MMA fan, that Dana has total control over Nick Diaz's every move at all times. :-(

Educate yourself in the reality, fool. Don't buy into this fairytale "sometimes unexpected **** happens and then people try to move on and make the best of the situation" bull****. :nono

So Nick Diaz not showing up to press conferences to promote the fight is all part of a carefully orchestrated evil plot by Dana White to actually promote the fight

I think people are getting a little too riled up about it. We know he has social anxiety and tends to pull this sort of **** before fights. But, he shows up, and he fights his heart out..

If he has a reputation for anything in the ring, it's for being a mean, relentless and tough sob..

Dude likes to fight, that's what he's good at, we should just let him do his thing and not sweat the bull**** workouts that don't mean a thing to the fight and are probably detrimental to fighters who just cut, and flew.

Dana White knew damned well that he could have to deal with this sort of situation, so we all, especially Dana White should just take a deep breath.. It's okay, your stupid ass press workout that Ariel Helwani gets a big boner watching isn't going to take place, who cares?

Its gay that he has to do these things in the first place. But if he loses his contract because of these no shows it will be equally as gay.

Nick Diaz knew damned well that he would have to deal with this sort of thing when he a) signed a contract with the UFC which outlined his promotional responsibilities, and b) agreed to take part in a title fight.

Nick Diaz should get over himself, act like a professional athlete (which pro athlete isn't required to attend boring press conferences and photo ops that they don't want to do?) and generally grow up and stop being such a baby. :good

It's okay, you're going to get paid a few grand to spend an hour or two doing an open workout and giving a few soundbites. Who cares? In return you're getting a title fight, against a legend who is literally the best possible competition the sport can offer for you, and you'll earn more money for that one fight than anybody in your neighbourhood will earn in their entire life. With the opportunity to earn several million dollars more if you win. In return you have to do a handful of open workouts and press events. Who cares? You don't want to do it? Suck it up like every other fighter on the roster does, and like everyone else does when they have to do the parts of their job that they hate. :good

He wants to be a millionaire? He wants to fight the best competition in the world? Doing a handful of these types of events is part of it. He needs to either get over himself, or quit being in high-profile fights. :bart

I can't see him being cut from the UFC, Pain-in-the-ass to deal with he may be but fighters/personalities like him aren't easy to find.

If it was Jon Fitch who pulled this ****, he would of been ****ed.

Diaz will be okay I think (unless he starts getting his ass whooped every fight).

what the **** would the UFC do if he could pull it off and take the win? he seems like a nightmare to deal with, wont show up to fan expos, fight promotion etc. Dana must have his fingers crossed that looses. if he was the top guy at 170 dana wouldn't be able to touch him. he would continue not to show up for things and it would take a brave man to cut him.

I never said anything about anyone being evil. But look at the Jones Sonnen thing. The fact Jones turned the fight down and Dana went public in criticizing Jones has lead to them both being on TUF, which is as much a vehicle for promoting the fight between the coaches as anything else. Would Jones agree to do TUF with Sonnen if he really thought he was disrespectful and didn't deserve the fight and would Dana put Jones of TUF if he really was pissed that he cost the UFC lots of money having to cancel an event? But the general public have a soap opera story line to distract them from the fact that the fight is a horrible mismatch. Dana and the UFC knows that good V evil is the biggest selling story there is. Diaz acting like this helps business, that's all I'm saying.
