  6. You guys crack me up on here. Ste smith is shite because of one loss?? Oh, I forgot, prospects aren't allowed tough fights and losses in this country. He was beaten by the better man on the night no doubt. He played into selby's hand by trading. Selby is intelligent and knew that because he was the naturally physically stronger guy keeping the pressure on smith would draw him into the wrong kind of fight - a shoot out.
What I would say is that ste needs to bring out the boxing ability most of us know he has.
He toughed it out against Simpson in two gruelling fights that were extremely close (bearing in mind Simpson is a much more experienced pro). Plus he did enough to convince the judges in Scotland. I spoke to victor loughlin after the fight and he said to me that he couldn't understand why smith wanted to constantly go to war with a man who clearly had a physical edge.
For me the fight was two things: a big coming out party for selby who was clearly 100 times better than the odds suggested who will obviously go on to be a force at domestic level at the very least.
Secondly : swifty doesn't need to change too much, just use his head before he engages in a toe to toe. The ability is there, but people won't be convinced until it is seen in a top competitive match up. We've seen the tough it out character, let's see swifty the top amateur with superb technical skills!

Quote me in this by the way: credit to selby. He was class, very tough and unrelenting!

Selby really surprised me yesterday as well as others, he stood and traded with the pressure fighter. Smith should of been more patient and work combos then move, but we are all clever in hindsight.

As for Bellew and Price, it was more Sky's fault for having two fellow scousers and close friends there, they also let big bro watch him get sparked! But I thought after the initial shock they did well, they're still young and new to that side of the biz!
