Talking about these 2 has reminded me of something I've wondered about in the past. Everyone knows that Jake had to get into bed with the Mob to get his title shot. What's the story with Graziano's title shot? He was another neighbourhood kid. Were there any shenannigans? Anyone got any views or insight on the subject?
graziano was a very protected fighter of his time im quite sure he had some help from outside figures. any of you old timers help with this one? im quite interested too.
I can't say other then I've never come across a hint of such in many years of being a fan. Rocky beat allot of welter's getting his title shot and Tony was past his prime when it happened. Tony's camp may have thought Rocky couldn't handle a middleweights strength over 15 and gave him a shot.
