Another reason Calzaghe is a legend is because he had a great chin!!

Hopkins may have been a few years older than calzaghe but he was still the number 1 ranked light heavy with calzaghe being the number 1 ranked SMW, sounds like a good fight to me but obviously not for you for some reason. They were also both the ring title holders of their divisions at the time.

As for jones jr, most including calzaghe knew he was done but that was a money fight for him im sure, but still you had a lot of people picking jr over calzaghe saying he was looking good again recently, you cant have it both ways

At least lacy had the bottle to attempt to unify the smw division by travelling for the fight and he gets little credit for this, considering most americans aversion to giving up home advantages and then not doing very well when they do

At the end of the day say what you want about calzaghe and i agree his cv is not the strongest but he still accumulated all the belts at SMW and was ring champ at both SMW and LHW, i think some are just jealous personally

I dont understand why people think that calzaghe wasnt interested in big fights or unification?? He tried everything he could to get that lunatic ottke into the ring and everyone with half a brain knows calzaghe wins that one. As for hopkins, he rejected the fight

Calzaghe should have fought dawson before he retired, thats the only thing i have with him and i bet he regrets not having a few more fights now because he still looked in reasonable nick even mid to late 30's i thought

No offense, but Ottke wouldn't have done all that much for Calzaghe's resume...... He is worse than Calzaghe in all the things that he is accused of.

To be fair Ottke was a good boxer and has done alot at SMW 21 defences, world title in his 13th fight, WBA & IBF champ, but gets alot of critism, some I agree with some I dont

Oh I agree to an extent. But dodgy decisions and relative lack of quality opp. And the way he ducked Calzaghe was pitiful, embarrassing and weak. Talk about protecting the "0". Disgraceful.

Either way, I probably should have qualified that with "in the eyes of American fight fans......."

    Bailey.

No one reads your 50 page detailed responses because they know you are a tool. Every opinion you have does not magically become a fact by writing it over and over again.

Why do you have to resort to name calling tho, aslong as you do that people are elss likely to take notice of what you say.

Just answered all your points Robert, and schooled you once again. I bet you have read it, found you cant answer, so wrote this.
Now you are trying to speak for others, when you cant argue and put correct points over for your self.
Schooled again, now Think Robert think and try and answer

Chad Dawson, Glen Johnson, Ottke, Clinton Woods. There are dozens of defenses that were against b and c level competition. Its not about one fight. If it was about one fight he accomplished his mission against Hopkins and Kessler. It's a joke to give Joe credit for "20 defenses" given the terrible level of competition he faced. Cotto got criticized for facing Jennings in a much needed comeback fight. Jennings is a monster compared to some of the cans that Joe opened up.
