Hearing whispers of yet another Regional Organization kicking off here very soon. Anybody heard anything or does anybody care ?
Nobody cares about insignificant crap like this or what logos referees wear except industry people. Fans just want good fights.
Ring official Derek Milham (Australia) and Francisco Martinez (New Zealand) presented a new WBA affiliated regional body covering the Oceania region called the WBAO. Key staffers include: President: Francisco Martinez Secretary: Derek Milham Vice President: Ferlin Marsh Vice President: Cyril Cairns Legal Counsel: Damon Locantro Countries included under the WBAO include Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Tahiti, Tonga and Polynesia. The first WBAO title fight will be at super welterweight with Dennis Hogan (20-0) vs. Steve Moxon (5-0) in Melbourne, Australia on July 6th.
I'm happy to sit back and wait. I've never been a fan of the bull**** flashy belts that get handed out like donations and finish up getting the boxer absolutely nowhere. Hopefully this org won't follow suit and just pander to the belt collectors, I wish them all the best but, time will tell.
All belts today mean fark all including so called world title belts. What matters is who the fans see as the true world best at each weight division. What matters is who you have beaten in your career not smoke and mirrors. True fans can see through all the BS.
No ones cares about belts, it's all about fighting the best available. Unfortunately the UFC belts mean a lot more than any boxing belt these days. Fuxck me gorilla Soliman even holds a version of a world title
