X-Soviet boxers have the #1 spot at heavy, light heavy, middle, and soon to be cruiser ( Usyk ).

But can they be as successful in the lower weight divisions? Possibly. Lomenchenko looks to be the #1 guy at featherweight in time.

    On deck...

Enter Pavlo Ischenko, an amatuer lightweight who won the European amateurs. Described as having great power in both hands, he's one to watch out for.

I'm telling you. There is something genetically going on that makes this eastern euro's so strong.

He's got pretty good footwork (and maybe good power but from what I've seen it doesn't look to be on the level of Golovkin, Kovalev or Beterbiev) but he's a bit wild with his punches (at times).

There are other light weight ex-Soviet boxers I'm more impressed by.

A dicey topic, but you might be correct. The Soviets always did well in power sports such as weight lifting, and wrestling. So it makes sense they are physically strong boxers.

I hope there are plenty of Kovalevs and not so many Gradovichs.
