For a start you mean boxing equivalent. Also, Carlton Cole is a multi million £ professional footballer, England International and who plays every season in the premier league.

    Yeah great comparison :lol::patsch

Thats the point I am trying to get accross to you, they (Not all) are not bad boxers. Their records are decieving.

You do realise Sugar Ray Leonard who is widely regarded as the finest boxer to ever lace a glove had 19 losses.

Do you think Ovill McKenzie is as bad as his record suggests?

Peter Buckley was not nicknamed the professor for his love of gravitational field theory. IT was because he had a masterfull defence that saw him never get knocked out and only stopped (most of them dubious [see first Hamed fight] 11 times I think in 300 fights.

    Learn something.

Robinson, and it's hardly the same seeing as they were mainly in his 40's and not at his best weight.

Boxing is about levels and top level fighters use journeymen all too often. Journeymen should fight journeymen and try to break away from that level.

Chris Edwards was once a journeyman until he managed to beat Dale Robinson for the English title and now he is the British & C'Wealth champ. Who knows he might even get a European title shot.

  9. Whilst i agree in general with your point, i don't think you can try and potray the fighter in this thread as being decent or his record looking harsh on him. Big difference between 19 wins and 19 losses and 9 wins and 100 losses!!

All though i will say i love supporting the underdog, and that video was quality, i can't stand pricks who shout abuse at fighters in the ring.

Journeymen are obviously essential to the development of up and coming propsects. There records dont mean a pinch of ****, without them how would young up and coming boxers learn to deal with different situations??

These guys know all the tricks in the book and this is what makes them great matches for our young hopefulls. Look at all our Olympions from 2008 and look at the records of some of thier early opponents, the journeymen play an integral part of our young hopefulls boxing education

Going back to the earlier football reference... Would a young talented footballer be given his debut against real Madrid in the champions league semi final OR would he start of playing a few reserve / youth games against lesser opposition to gain experience??

Actually igonre the last paragraph football is football boxing is boxing, but I think I have confirmed my thoughts on the subject.

I bet he doesn't feel humiliated in the slightest.

To have so many fights with so few stoppage losses indicates he knows how to look after himself more than most fighters.

Getting stopped would mean an automatic suspension, which they can ill afford seeing as they fight so often. As a result they know how to go the distance whilst still being entertaining and competitive.

Anybody deciding a fighter is poor just by looking at Boxrec needs to go and watch these fighters at work before making judgements.

He might be trolling a bit but I couldn't agree more with the thread starter.

Its really quite cringing the amount of praise journeymen get on this forum, its that British attitude, we all love a loser.
