I disagree, they are there to do a job and some of them do it very well.

I can see where HH is coming from though.

A fair few journeymen don't even try to win, there's three categories though - ones that fall over, ones that run all night and ones that are double tough.

When a guy starts losing ten or twenty on the bounce it's time for promoters to stop using them other than against debutants or young lads coming off a loss in their first couple of fights.

In fairness, the best prospects tend not to be matched with these types, thankfully.

There's always room for good journeymen like Zack Page. It's the shite from Eastern Europe that tends to confuse people between a good journeyman and a turd that would struggle against a reasonably tough rugby player.

Johnny Greaves did a good piece about this recently actually.

Most of their fights they take at ridiculously short notice, they're great for the sport and I hope we get more coverage of them, they deserve it.
Hearing that Greaves story on Buncey last week where he turned up to work the corner and was asked to fight so he quickly got the train home, picked up his gear and went back to fight was amazing lol.

9 wins, 130 losses. Well at least this chap knows he's going to lose and get punched in the face for a pittance, something heroic about it.

The OP stated this fighter is "completely useless"

Look into his record a bit more and you'll see he's gone the distance in his last 50 + fights! The last guy to stop him was Gary Sykes. He even got a draw 4 fights ago.

We need these type of fighters to give young prospects pro rounds as they build up to a better standard of opposition. It really is as simple as that.

Of course there's an argument about these bums who come from Latvia and fall over straight away. They are clearly bad for the sport. This lad is oviously durable though and will come and give it everything. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

A quick look at his record shows he's fighting 2/3 times a month probably at late notice for a few extra quid towards the bills.

If he gets stopped he's on an automatic 30 day ban and can't earn. He's only been stopped once in 5 years (to future British champion, Gary Sykes), I'd say he knows what he's doing in there......

They make alot of money and someones got to do it. I think they are happier with their records due to the fact they have so little notice compared to people with an 8week camp. If you cant understand why they should be respected then nothing anyone on this thread says is going to change your mind. Its the same thing with audley harrison, im sure the money hes made makes the insults from people on the internet much easier to handle.

    You are a ****ing idiot.

Journeymen boxers, guys who will fight at days or hours notice, are usually well paid for their endeavours and are rarely knocked out or even stopped.

You are useless at posting on a boxing forum so you should maybe practice what you preach.
