McGregor tried fighting like a boxer in a MMA match. Dumb move. He can't box....and doesn't take a punch well.

Basically he tried the Rousey method of fighting...didn't work for her either.

what makes you think that connor would be stupid enough to try to outbox even half-decent pro boxer? He would get himself killed probably..

    Oh man guys...

I like Boxing much more than MMA in kind of watching (it s simply more likable to watch), but it´s so much easier to hold a 0 record in Boxing than MMA...or let s say UFC (there are many other MMA organisations in the world like ROAD FC in Korea).

    Boxing:
Robert Helenius has a 0 loss record...because he never fought the best.
Sven Ottke had a 0 loss record...same reason
Brian Nielson had once a 49-0 record...
There are so many others...so they are all "better" as Conor, Fedor or Rutten, right? Because they never lost a fight.

Nobody can hold a 0 record in MMA because all organisations let fight their best fighters against each other...not that ****ty WBO/WBA/IBF/WBC business bull$hit which is so common in Boxing today (and in the last 20 years).

With the same conditions as in MMA, those things would have happened in Boxing:

    Tyson vs Lewis in 1995-1997
    Manny vs Floyd in 2008-2011
    Wladi Klitschko vs Valuev 2006-2008
    ...
    and many others.

Put Rocky Marciano with his 49-0 record in MMA conditions (not MMA rules, MMA conditions = best fight each other over and over again) and his 0 is gone very quick.

MMA is bum fighting level compared to boxing. Those two guys looked like a couple of drunks outside the bar on a Friday night.

I freaking hate Connor and have been waiting for him to lose, however, wasn't it Floyd that talked about Connor first?

I know Ronda talked **** about Floyd first but I thought it was the other way round with Floyd and Connor?

I could be wrong, I often am

Hypetrain isn't derailed completely YET, if he goes back down 145 and defends successfully against Edgar then he redeems himself.

Floyd didn't say antyhing bad about him. He just said he feels like their is racism in combat sports because Mcgregor is brash and outspoken like him but doesn't get the same criticism becasue he's white

    hmmm, I see.

Well to me Connor is a hype job, sure he is great at what he does but I could see lots of guys beating him, not just Diaz.

The UFC is good at over hyping its guys, I am not sure if that's just a white thing or not?

If I remember correctly it was about the time the whole ronda vs floyd saga was unfolding. connor was feeling left out and had to chime in himself saying something to the tune that he would finish mayweather in one round. :scaredas:

Of course he's a massive hype job. That's how the ufc makes the money by drawing in unsuspecting fools to believe in this idea of an unstoppable fighter with unbelievable skill. :patsch

It's all ridiculous and a bit worrying that so many people buy into such hot air so easily. But then again look at some polls about what the average american knows or doesnt know and you will as diaz said, "not be surprised motherfkers"

UFC fighters are low level athletes in the little leagues, talent and skill wise, it's a weak sport. It's a sport based on hype to draw in morons who don't know any better. Most UFC fans are more like an exicted 10 year-old playing with his WWE action figures than a serious sports fan.

I agree. UFC is considered the top promotion by a landslide so they have the best talent pool in all of MMA under a monopoly. We literally see the best of the pro MMA world fighting each other almost every time in the UFC.
Under those conditions its a lot harder to put together a winning streak than it is in a setting like pro boxing where there are several promotions thus a lot of potrential business BS to keep top matchups from getting made.
