People say one is ducking the other. Whatever whatever. Ward says Bute hasn't faced the same competition, and will need to do so to earn a shot (am i right in that ?) So who is in the pipeline to fight Ward ?
the questions not whos the pipeline to fight ward, its who Bute needs to fight before he fights Ward. Froch, Kessler, Abraham, or Direll. u cant just cut in line wit out fightin the best. Wards WBC and WBA champ and winner of the S6. Bute hasnt proved himself against ANY of the top 5 SMWs.
If Bute fight Froch, Kessler, Dirrell (hate myself for saying it), I'd say he got more claim on fighting Ward. One of them should be enough, hopefully away.
I agree Bute's resume is ****. Doesn't seem like Bute & Ward will fight for a long time. Any noise about Ward's next opponent ?
i cant believe that some bute fans think Ward is scared. its not that its just he probly feels disrespected that how bute is so protected with out fighting anybody and just think he can walk into an undisputed title shot without taking the same risks as froch and ward. Ward probly wants to see Bute take an ACTUAL RISK of defending his title against a live opponent or two first
Ward didn't even deserve the shot at Kessler half as much back then as Bute deserves one at him now can't believe ppl buying that crap he says someone harmless.. possibly one of those bums Bute was used to beat up before such as Magee or Mendy
how didnt Ward deserve a shot? who bitched out of the S6? Ward or Bute? Ward was the underdog against EVERYONE Bute is a protected made champ
Not being in the super six seems to have made Bute a very divisive fighter, on here. It also seems to make everything Bute does seem less than. Bute beats Johnson, he gets nothing. Froch beats the same old Johnson, afterward, people are running around going ''Is he an ATG if he beats Ward too?" Bute also shut down Bika, almost completely, I thought. Ward, not so much. I think Bute "deserves" a fight with Ward as much as anyone. I also suspect he's a greater threat than anyone else. His career isn't what we've wanted during a time where we have been gifted with an uncharacteristic amount of attention and activity for a division, but that doesn't reduce what he has done or the quality he appears to have. Having the opportunity to get the IBF/WBA/WBC unified in that division alone should be enough for fans to want it. Having that fight be with two undefeated title holders that are both big names? This should really be a high priority fight for us, in 2012. Don't let this cake in the oven too long. Remember Lopez/Gamboa...
and whos bitching out of the legit #1 vs #2 smw fight now? Ward only fought low level journeyman before he undeservingly got a shot at Kessler. not one remotely serious contender
Yeah from what ive seen the dawg looks pretty good. fights tall and seems to have some decent pop in him, just highly untested at any real sort of level
