Broken clavicle, Ref and Doctor stopped the fight, was 37 years old and coming off a 3+ year lay off...

I agree. moreno's style is close to sweet pea whitaker's, meaning the way he actually looks in the ring, and the way he moves.

Yeah its uncanny at times watching him how similar he is asthetically, you wonder if he ever watched Pernell as a young fighter.

El Chemito is the slickest boxer out there. If he had more pop on his punches you argue he's a minature mondern day Ray Robinson. People will rag on Top Rank for not matching up Donaire with Rigo, but GB don't even want people to talk about Moreno vs Mares.

    easywith that. . .

his style is a lot diff than rr's, who was more of a classical, and orthodox boxer/puncher. . .

power notwithstanding, moreno wouldn't be comparable to SRR. . .

moreno and rigondeaux are definitely 2 of the slickest southpaws in boxing right now...

    he's not a southpaw...but i think he's still fighting and is super slick...joan guzman.

he wasnt getting the recognition because he was with some snake promoter who was screwing him over fighting at home. now he is with gb he should get the redit and exposure he deserves.

Moreno's one of my favorite guys going today. If you're a fan of Moreno and haven't heard of Hilario Zapata, you should check out some of his fights. Some are on youtube. A forerunner of Moreno - great, slick, southpaw, Panamian stylist (though a bit of a headcase. So far, Anselmo doesn't seem to have that problem).

Anyway, hopefully Moreno gets a big fight against a Mares or Donaire sometime soon.
