Chemito recently announced his retirement after his last fight which he lost by KO. What's the classic forums opinion on Moreno?

Really liked watching his boxing skills, especially his fight against Darchinyan. Very Sweet Pea like with his movement and slippery defense. He's had a fine career and has a case as being one of the best Panamanian fighters.

He was really good. I also remember some reffing and scoring issues with the Mares fight that may have made the difference.

Bump. Sad to see that he’s almost forgotten. He really had that style that was shades of Whitaker and Zapata. Highly underrated boxer and entertaining stylist.

He was the hipsters choice. Had a few good performances, but generally a modern ABC titlist.

I’d rank him below Canizales, I’d probably rank him below Sahaprom as well.

Good fighter all the same. Not the kinda’ guy to get much debate going though.

Good fighter. But, never unified or demonstrated Hall Of Fame level talent.

Moreno was basically what Winky Wright would have been remembered as if Winky never got those marquee fights late in his career: a clever, elusive, southpaw who fought in a lot of random locations while earning peanuts.

When he outclassed Darchinyan it looked like his was on his way to making some money and creating a legacy. I thought he had a good chance at cleaning up the guys who had participated in the 118 lbs. tournament on Showtime that Moreno had been excluded from. I think he would have definitely beaten Yhonny Perez, and slightly favored to beat Joseph Agbeko.

Unfortunately he was next match with Mares, who fought in his usual fashion of lurching in and out of range and flapping his arms like a hummingbird, leading to a lot of wrestling, headbutts, and low blows. Moreno really had a hard time coping with Mares' style and after he lost in a really ugly fight, the boxing establishment seemed happy to say farewell to Moreno, since he no longer had a title and a really impressive winstreak.

After that he seemed to lose interest based on the way his performance dropped off.

His first fight with Yamanaka might be his best ‘win’ though.

Annihilated in the rematch in a spirited effort.
