    A bit selective here.

In February 2022 Ukraine was invaded and Usyk immediately headed there. There was significant doubt when or indeed whether he would want to box again. Ukraine was under martial law where men of fighting age weren’t allowed to leave without special dispensation.

I’m not blaming Usyk for doing this, family and country come before sport. But clearly that was his decision that caused a delay for the first few months.

They got the OK, in late April / May and then Matchroom sorted the Saudi deal out. You’re right there was a further delay to let Joshua bed in with Garcia.

Don't bother replying and explaining the facts. These posters have an anti-Joshua and anti-Matchroom agenda. They seem to know all the facts apart from when it involves Joshua or Matchroom.

The AJ years were a great time for boxing, Froch v Groves sparked a lot of interest in Boxing again and we had a Heavyweight Olympic champion in the UK.

AJ was marketed as the second coming of Ali and fought some great B level opponents and Klitskco out of his prime. Even Eric Molina was PPV (450k buys)

There we less streams, inflation wasn't as high and the cost of living wasn't eating into the kids college fund.

AJ/Hearn fleeced the public just as much as Fury, but never did AJ fight an A Level fighter until Usyk, he's been gone on record saying "if the fighter wants the fight it happens" so it's 2023 and we still haven't seen AJ Wilder? I know a lot of you just think it's Wilders fault because he sent out the tweet saying "Even though I was offered more to fight AJ I kept my word to you" blah blah, AJ is not blameless in this.

As much as Fury is ruining the division with these fights, I doubt AJ will inject life back into the division

Eddie Hearn And Matchroom are close up magicians, their propaganda machine is Goebbels'esq

Not seen the link but last night he was asking for a doctor for his back injury caused by him carrying the HW division.
Seriously though that comment was cringeworthy.
A classic example of a joke gone wrong. I’m fully expecting Tony Bellew to comment that AJs comments are groundbreaking in the world of comedy.

In fairness.... he's fought Wlad, Usyk twice and now pushing for the Wilder fight later this year so can't really say he shy's away from the big fights.

Wlad who was at the very end of his career and had been beat by fury, uysk who no one thought could step up to top level heavy especially after the chisora fight and a rematch because he thought he was being given the wrong info.... and now he's being cashed out vs wilder. Might get a fury fight aswell.

I don't think even he thinks he beats wilder now.

Was great for boxing at the time and I'd still argue he's furys toughest fight out of the top 5.

    Have a day off

Only a plum could turn fighting Wlad, Usyk and Wilder into a negative.

So what is Wlad was at the end of his career? He was still the best heavy about when Joshua faced him so I don't get the criticism of it. Wlad showed he had a bit left in the tank that night
