Anthony Bellew v David Deron Haye - 17th December

Your reading this the wrong way IMHO.. Haye is confident. A trilogy clause is only valid IF he beats Bellew.

 

Fighting like a warrior in a British level match (and losing) doesn't erase the nonsense he spouted about Wlad back in the day.

He never really admitted Wlad was a better man than himself. He never admitted that he was no better than the "bums" (Wlads previous challangers) he had ridiculed going into that fight.
Haye has spent his whole career pretending he's better than the rest and doing very little to back it up, and let's face it, he's not going to change that.

The fact that he's EARNED and DESERVES respect for losing to Tony ****ing Bellew illustrates clearly what level he's at and highlights the preposterous nonsense of his arrogance back in the day of the Wlad fight.

I disagree that he "totally redeemed himself". To do that he'd have to fight like a warrior against someone a lot better than Bellew OR simply admit he's not in the top class.
He's dishonest and for financial reasons. He's certainly not the only one in boxing but he's one of them.

Realities of Haye vs Bellew

. First fight was kinda like a circus, entertaining but lacked real quality
. Haye is definitely not the fighter he was, but was probably injured in the build up
. Tony Bellew is an over achiever
. Haye being declared a warrior after the first fight is an over statement, it was poor execution from Bellew that made Haye last so long.
. Both guys don't deserve this payday for conning the public
. After all this criticism.... I will still watch the fight!

 

I would like to see the fight also. I think Haye will knock Bellew out this time, if he doesn't he should retire for good, but if he does he should keep fighting and stay active, he can still make some big money............

 

Having seen two of the press interviews so far, there doesn’t seem to any of the trash talking nonsense from the first fight, thank God. It was just embarrassing in the end.

I’d imagine the winner of it fights Parker. Maybe the loser fights Fury...

 

I think it is fairly safe to say that if Haye loses, that is it. Retirement.

There is no longer such thing as a ‘fit’ David Haye. The disrespect towards Bellew is staggering, past reputations don’t win fights. It doesn’t matter what you used to be, what matters is now. Bellew is a fighter in his prime, whatever you may think of that is personal preference but he is a fully fit, battle hardened, dedicated athlete who can do a full training camp and go into a fight in peak condition. David Haye is injured. He’s come back pretending it’s all alright but the reality is that it’s clearly not. His shoulder hasn’t miraculously healed over them few years he was retired or are you telling me it has??? Bellew knew he was conning people (or maybe just himself) with that shoulder (after beating the two tin cans) and called him out.

You have to be in tip top condition to get in the ring at that level. You’ve got the shoulder injury and now the achilles.

 

What can Haye say now? He talked a lot last time and it ended up being all rubbish so he can't do it again.

Not sure Bellew would fight Parker. Hearn said they looked at Parker but the value in the fight wasn't there.

I dont think Bellew necessarily wants to become a HW champion. He wants fights which guarantee huge paydays for his family.

 

Bellew gets no respect for beating an injured, one legged Haye. He luck-boxed (no pun intended) his way to a miracle 'win'. If anything, Hayes reputation increased and Bellews diminished because of the fight. We could all see that Bellew was not even in the same class as a severely injured Haye, the only way Bellew could win was if a miracle happened. It did in the sixth, Hayes achilles finally snapped. The fact that Bellew couldn't take him out until the eleventh shows you how bad Bellew is. Even then Bellew DIDN'T take him out, Shane McG threw the towel in early and now he is out of a job. Bellew thinks because of that he is now a warrior. Can't wait for his head to be taken clean off and for Haye to hurt him so bad he retires. Scum of the earth.

 

‘Scum of the earth’, bloody hell mate, why the hate? I’ll be honest, up to round 6 I saw Haye applying more pressure but mostly missing wildly with telegraphed shots. Bellew timed him easily. For me, Bellew exposed that Haye is physically not up to it anymore. The heart’s there but the body isn’t.

Do you believe Haye’s shoulder has fully recovered back to its original best?

 

He was notably slower all round than against the cans, so I think he was injured going in (this is pretty much accepted given the rumours of Achilles peroblems in the build up and his weight suggests that too), so while he may not be as sharp as 2011 I still think that if he’s in similar condition as the fights against cans he’ll be quicker than Bellew...even noticeably slower and out of shape he was still showing enough to beat Bellew, even though Bellew was admittedly competitive...

If you want to compare Haye and Bellew,compare them this way,when they were both at their natural weight class,which for both was CRUISER.Both at their peak,Haye from 2007-2009 and Bellew,2014-2016.Who was Better,Haye unified it,Bellew stumbled to a title.Both a Heavyweight have been garbage but financial reasons make sense.This is Matchrooms British version of Mayweather v Mcgregor.Dont buy it or they will do more of these,stream it.

 

There’s no comparison, Haye is an ATG cruiserweight in my eyes. Bellew would get blown out within 2 rounds in Haye’s heyday...but this is 2017 and what he used to be doesn’t matter.
