One of my close friends ruptured his achilles playing basketball, there's still things he can't do now even though it's years later. I brought up the Haye recovery and he can't believe he is going to be fighting again so soon.

Looking at Haye's ringwalk and the time it took,it definitely makes me think he had the injury problems while training,Along with a visit to germany to see a specialist. But why dosent Haye make any reference to it,even a small one,in all interviews he dosent give a subtle hint, was he injured before, but then if he was, why was he swinging so much, which im sure the doctor told him, would make it worse, something dosent add up.I dont think he's going to able to go through it, the camp, then the fight.Their was a reason he wanted to retire when he was 30.His body underneath all the muscle is made up of a chicken frame.

Not sure i liked hayes demeanor today. Seemed a bit flat. Like a man that knew he wont win...with bellew being the opposite. Starting to think haye is damaged goods and just here for the money. Still cant help but think its a stupid comeback fight for haye.

Tony bellew isnt the type that wont test you. Which is pretty much the last thing a man with multiple injury problems coming back for his first fight from recent injury with a brand new coach needs at 37.

Looks to me hes chased the money and just hoping for the best here. Hes another year older...after another serious injury...cant see him getting any better at this point. Needs to get back fighting lower level guys in quick sucession.

Gradually building his opposition up and building his confidence with the injuries and new coach and the training regime. Hes just gonna throw himself into the bellew camp 100 percent straight away cause its a big fight. In the end will be surprised if his body can take it at this stage.

Even his weight is all over the place and has been for a few years...bellew looked a good bit bigger than him today. All this nonsense about i ll weigh what i weigh i believe is what he does. Used to do the same with his sleeping...woke up when he woke up to train etc. Looks like a man thats lost his discipline. Think he did years ago hence booths no longer there. He needs a solid regime.
Annoying cause i genuinely think he could do something in the comeback but they end up sabotaging themselves pretty much everytime.

    Hatton with senchenko etc.

I’ve been rewatching old fights of Bellew’s and am beginning to think perhaps people underestimate him - no **** Sherlock but heat me out...

Chin - he’s been put down by lesser punchers than David Haye but other than vs Stevenson when he took a clean shot to the temple he’s never looked really in trouble from what I can remember. He took some good shots from Haye, sure he was moving away from them so that took the sting out but still. I wonder if everyone is underestimating his ability to take a shot at heavyweight...sure if he gets caught flush walking onto he a punch I’ve no doubt he’d be out like a light but with his style how often is that going to happen?

Boxing ability - we’ve seen him in some real stinkers over the years, he lost to cleverly and struggled with domestic level fighters, does this lead us to underestimate his boxing ability? He’s pretty decent at frustrating fighters and being negative...I look back to the Stevenson fight...he frustrated him and put together some nice attacks on the counter as well, defended well and avoided a lot of punches. Fairly similar to the Haye fight only Id say he was more willing to engage with Stevenson. He’s actually a decent world level boxer, has a very frustrating style to box and probably gives any world level fighter an awkward time (other than the superheavyweights). Also is he a better fighter than then? He’s certainly not weight drained...

I think had the injury not occurred Haye would’ve won, but I am beginning to think the second fight will be similar except with Haye boxing smarter and winning the early rounds a little more clearly and closing the show in the 6th or 7th round (without injury). But Haye needs to respect the skills Bellew has and come up with a strategy to nullify it if he doesn’t want to be frustrated again.

Onto Haye, perhaps he isn’t as over the hill as he looked, perhaps Bellew is just better than given credit for? Just because he doesn’t look flash when he boxes...

Bellew's problem, a bit like Haye, is that he doesn't have a weight division to call his own. I'd say naturally he should be somewhere between light heavyweight and cruiserweight. I'd say he probably scraped into the top 10 at LHW and CW. His strongest division is probably CW, but then that is a very tough division. Not even sure he's a top 20 HW.

I thought Bellew was decent aswell, espically the last two fights before Haye. But against a injured Haye from round 6 to 11,he looked dog****,his face and body was all lightning red,he looked so tired, his best shots couldnt put a one legged man out, which is a joke, espically since Haye's power must have been neturilised as he couldnt generate power from his right leg.The Gameplan was perfect from him and Coldwell, take Haye to the later rounds, but now Haye has got 11 rounds in the bank, they have to relay on another injury or a gassed out Haye.If as we are led to believe he was injured beforehand, then the shots Bellew tasted, wasnt his full power, which is worrying.Saying that i still believe,Bellew will win,as Haye wont be able to complete a full training camp and 12 rounds without a major injury.

Bellew now knows he can take Haye’s big shots, he knows he can telegraph Haye’s shots and duck and weave them cos Haye’s timing has gone. The confidence Bellew has from their first fight is massive. I’m not totally ruling out Haye, he could edge it on points but i’ll be amazed if he can even last 12 rounds. I went for Bellew in the first fight, I think this will be a convincing win for him.

Pretty much spot on. Tony bellews a very very good spoiler when he chooses to be. Its not a good style match up for haye tbh. Should have swerved it. He,d have more success against other proper heavyweights.

Another worry is hayes choice in trainer for this one. I get hes a world class trainer. But i m pretty sure the cuban style is primary a counter punch style mostly. Haye doesnt need that for this fight. He needs someone to prepare him for opening bellew up. To work him over when he chooses to spoil. I ll tell you who,d help haye...its a wierd one but someone like billy graham would have been a better choice. Very very unlikely to ever happen but someone similar to that. One of billys strengths was giving his fighters the tools to open opponents up. But going with a counter punch style is a bit of an oversight for me.

Agree twenty. Think hayes problem is hes too predictable with the wide stance. But at the same time its about the only stance at this stage in the game he can get away with. Its a pity tho cause i think haye would get away with it against other guys...that dont have the same ability as bellew to stick to a game plan and can actually fight a few different ways more than hes giving credit for.

Tony diffused hayes attacks perfectly for the first four rounds in the first fight. Taking advantage of hayes defence when he opened up. But what a lot of people forget is from the fifth prior to the injury bellew did start to push haye back. Not long later haye got injured. But reckon he would have continued to push him back.

I think both of them know whats going down on the 17th. As well as eddie hearn. Hayes took this one for the money. But cant see him winning it unless he gets lucky. My moneys going on bellew this time round.

I agree a little mate. I think Virgil Hunter would have been perfect. Look at the advice he gave Ward after the Kovalev KD in the midst of adversity. That's the key word. Adversity. If Haye is in trouble during the fight he needs the right corner advice, didn't hear Shane say much last time. Virgil is the man even if he may be a bit creepy.

They both knew before the last fight as well - both pissing themselves laughing together in rooms next to the rehearsed public presser acting and post fight at the money made from the mugs.

They simply fight again to fleece the mugs - no titles and no glory holes on public view.
