Anthony Bellew v David Deron Haye - 17th December

Sorry but this is rubbish. Bellew has never taken Hayes big shots, as in the last fight he was injured before it started and unable to throw his big shots.

 

Dunno how much I would read into that first fight, due to the injury that Haye had during camp, (he defo had the injury during camp or even before it) thats why he came in heavy, cos he wasnt able to do as much cardio. Then he went BACK to the specialist in Germany before the fight and in the weeks build up there was reports the fight was off due to an achillies injury. Also as he twice went to the specialist in Germany during his camp you can be sure he wouldnt have been able to spar too much especially closer to the fight and to me this was clear as his timing was WAY off and this is something that you would normally say was a Haye strength Then add that to the fact that he had that strange wide stance from the first bell in the fight before his achillies fully went. However the injury he sustained isnt an easy one to comeback from and i think he will struggle with this camp also.

 

I’ll rephrase...Bellew has took the best shots that Haye can now muster in his current state. Haye’s achilles will now stop him from launching off his right foot with the same ferocious power that he mustered in his prime.

In that first fight, I personally believe that was the best version of Haye you could get at this stage of his career. I believe he trained really hard for the fight albeit within the limitations of his body including a dodgy achilles and a ropey right shoulder. If Bellew trains the house down he will go into the second fight once again in much better (not aesthetically) fighting shape than Haye. His boxing brain is as sharp as ever, it’s a shame his body fails him.

 

Are either of these two loud mouths even in the top 10 heavyweights? Tickets should be a 10er or something. In 1990 they'd be outside the top 40.

 

No chance top 10 ... MAYBE top 20 and only because of how much of a drop off we see when you start going past the top 4 or 5.

 

The thing is i m pretty sure haye had the wide stance against the two guys he beat up on before the bellew fight. Since the comeback haye never really knew what to do with his feet. Always thought it was down to mcguigan but think it might have been the achilles from even back then.

I think hes cooked tho...unless he can get his footwork and footspeed sorted. Such a massive part of boxing...footwork. But you cant compete at a high level regardless who you used to be if its hindered.

Its like fighting with one arm tied behind your back. I think haye tricked himself into believing he,d win the first fight...but think he knows this time round whats gonna happen. So does bellew. And so does hearn.

Just a guy thats out of his time...chasing what he used to take for granted too much. Should have applied himself more when he was younger and made the very best of himself. Its like hes realised it a bit too late when its all but over. He,ll give it all hes got...but cant help think he should have swerved it.

 

Yeah mcguigan was completely out his depth for me. Not really his fault...just too inexperienced getting chucked in with someone as difficult to handle as david haye. He,ll learn from it. But he was basically mugged off from the start of the camp. Didnt strap the ankle etc...Then took far too long to chuck the towel in. It should have been in...the very next round instead of letting it go 3 or 4 rounds more. Watched the fight again the other day....haye was falling about the ring. The towel had to go in.

Fair play to haye for carrying on but he really shouldnt have been in that position. By all means send him out the next round after the injury but when it becomes apparent hes cooked its time to get the towel in.

The billy graham one was a stupid one mate...but someone that specialises in opening opponents up would be perfect for it.

Yeah i like hunter...not too sure of his training methods as in not sure how he trains his guys...but hes the type of guy you want in your corner.

 

At this rate he'll have a different trainer every fight. Going from Dave to a Box Office PPV against a heavyweight debutant with trilogy already signed for is pure businessmanconship

 

It dosent matter who he gets,for Haye to even beat Bellew,******* BELLEW tells you the level he is at now.Imagine if you told Haye and Booth this would happen five years on from chisora. Struggling to beat Tony Bellew,they would've ripped your head off,you cant make this up,it feels scripted.For Haye to even compete on the 17th and have a chance of winning,and we are not even talking about Joshua or Wilder who are 1 and 2 in the division,we are talking about a pumped up cruiserweight,who Haye would have demolished in his prime and which Bellew has readily admitted. He Would need a legendary trainer such as Steward.He is 37,his speed and timing his gone,his power is fading,he will get outworked and outskilled by tony,his best chance is a lucky right hand or left hand. I feel like Bellew feels so happy and honoured to be the man who can finally put Haye to a end.Every Heavyweight from 2011(After the Klitschko Toe incident)till 2013 has been looking to do Haye in.Chisora failed,Fury jumped at the chance.But that shoulder injury in 2013 was a blessing,it was a get out of jail card for Haye,as looking back i believe fury would of repeated the performance he done to WK two years later. But he blew all the money he had,and now has to take beatings to get it back. I've seen people mentioning Wilder for Haye.This is what he has turned into,when Haye said years back Harrison was the laughing stock of british boxing,he is now turning into this,because David is a good name,people will look to fight him and have his name on their record as he is such a big and easy fight.Sad out of that crop from 2008-2013,Haye,Froch,Khan.Haye was the most talented and skilled,imagine if had the Froch workrate and desire he could have achieved way more and not be in the financial situation he is now.

 

Me and missus watched Haye-Chisora before. She couldn’t believe the difference having only seen Haye against Bellew. He was so fast, his movement was brilliant. The second time he knocked Chisora down, he was so fast he landed on him twice has he was falling over.
2012 Haye would obliterate Bellew there is no doubt and the Wilder’s and AJ’s imo.

 

Agree...if i was eddie hearn i wouldnt have chucked joshua in against a fit working haye up to this point in his career anyway. For as good as joshua is hes always one good punch away from being dethroned and haye always had that one good punch. There was a time after haye came back eddie was avoiding the fight...

But you pretty much called it from the start...hayes done. Bit of ashame cause reckon without the injuries he still could have been a player. Cause always kept himself in good shape. But starting to think...his injuries are more than just the shoulder. Obviously the achilles went...but he must have had injuries to it beforehand imo. His hand speed is still very fast...its his foot speed thats massively decreased. The footworks/footspeed or his bottom half is where his problems are all coming from. Would be interesting if its been achilles problems all along...and they ve got it sorted. Long shot but would completely change that second fight. But after the press conference no mention of it etc...his demeanor i m starting to think maybe its just has been ageing/injuries you cant come back from mounting up. And hes pretty much finished at the higher level.

 

Haye was right to quit back in 2013.Should've stayed retired,now he has this loudmouth scouser in front of him,taking him as a easy ride,which he is now,but someone he would've dealt with ease in his prime.

 

I can’t see how haye is going to come back fully recovered from that injury. It just doesn’t look good with the changing of trainers either. Seeing bellew win again would be insufferable, I hope to Christ haye is being truthful but I wonder....

 

Haye looking in great shape already, carrying far less weight than the last fight already...looks far more cut...
