He was staggering, and ultimately it doesn't matter, he was being beaten senseless and wouldn't have seen the end of the round regardless.

Do you remember how much time left in the round? I'm curious

Good call with the standing count, good cornerwork with the retirement.

I think he could’ve seen the end of the round, even if it meant surviving another knockdown, fighters have survived 2 knockdowns in the same round, he wasn’t taking huge punches consistently outside of that round, if he was, I would say put the safety first, but, like I said, he hadn’t been taking huge punches consistently outside of that round.

He was badly rocked, but even then, outside of the punch that dropped him, after that he didn’t take any punches that really rocked his head sideways or up or anything, Cacace was throwing a lot and did land a decent amount after the knockdown, but none that really rocked the head, it just looked worse because Wood still hadn’t recovered from the knockdown, was still rocked and hadn’t gained his legs back and Cacace was pouring it on, like I said, he was in a far bigger trouble at sever points against Conlan.

And where's the squire @Serge tonight?.

A Brit RBR isn't quite the same without him .

That was three years ago. Wood's a warrior and he wouldn't know how to quit; in that situation the corner has to think of their fighter's health rather than hope for a miracle. I think the ref was about to step in anyway.

Totally different though mate- Cacace is a big puncher and Mick isn't. Plus with two knockdowns in that round- he would have been 8 points up. Game over. Actually a good stoppage from the corner and I rarely give Davison any credit

Without doubt that's the coolest music video of all time. Incredible to think it's more than sixty years old.

I thought we were reasoning on whether the stoppage was the right decision. Who ‘gives a ****’ about what? What are you actually referring to? The discussion as a whole that you actively were involved in up until now? Or something else that I’m missing?

It’s not hostility, it’s a genuine question because I’ve been addressing each point at a time throughout this entire discussion.

Wood was inactive for the entire year of 2024 - he hadn't fought in a year and a half, despite coming off a couple of good wins in 2023.

It has been said many times that inactivity ruins a boxer. I've seen it happen many many times.
