Round 1

Thain lets his left jab fly out long while gliding to his left in a wide arc. Spence turns and watches, blocking. Spence takes a few hops backward to gear himself up for a charge straight in, missing some straight shots. Thain waits for Spence in a corner, ducks in under an attack to grab him and give him a spin while moving by. Jabs from Spence, and a few rips at the body as Thain floats back to the ropes and then grabs. Thain circles right now and pops the long jab. A few jabs between the gloves of Spence. He loses his balance and falls forward. No knockdown. Spence buries his head in Thain's stomach and flaps blindly at his sides. Thain feints while jumping halfway into the pocket and then stopping abruptly. Cuffing left hook up high lands across the back of Spence's neck.

10-9 Thain

 

Round 2

Thain takes half steps to his left, feet barely coming off the canvas. A trickle of jabs from Thain. Nice digs to the body with the left now, always in motion. Spence does one of his cavalry charges, jab out like a bayonet with several miniature thrusts but all coming short as Thain just pulls back with ease. Some nice jabs by Thain while circling close and turning Spence. Ineffective swipes at the body by Spence, hitting arms. Long lead right by Thain, just dodged. Spence comes forward behind a turtle shell as Thain backs up to the ropes and jabs. Spence lobs out a few to the body but can't reach. High jabs by Spence, then covering up as Thain answers in kind. Good left hook to the body by Thain, and a clinch.

20-18 Thain

 

Round 3

Some high tosses by Spence, as Thain carousels around him with jabs to the face and hooks to the body. Spence catches him with the odd jab of his own but is significantly out-landed. Thain is putting his jab out softly, just beating Spence to the punch as the latter's jabs go high and wide and pushing him out at arm's length. Thain keeps his distance and jabs out long, missing a fair bit but getting a few square on the abs. Spence isn't touching anything, hooking out high and low with both hands as he comes forward with hunched shoulders and covers up between attacks. Thain is avoiding the corners and tying up strategically when needed.

30-27 Thain

 

Round 4

Spence swings out hard with overhands, coming straight at Thain. Misses all. Spence drops his arms past his knees, gorilla style. Thain backs up as Spence mugs at him, wary of a trap. Spence blocks several jabs on his high guard coming forward, and takes a few slices before Thain ties him up. HARD right hand leads to the body by Thain, piercing Spence just under the ribcage. Clinch. Spence wrestles Thain back a bit until the referee calls for a break. Spence comes forward with his guard up but is met with a heavy uppercut that crashes up behind it. Spence ducks a 1-2 and comes forward winging hard but erratic shots. Thain slips punches until close enough to grab, waiting for the break. Another good uppercut by Thain. BIG long right hand lead by Thain, catches Spence high on the face and makes him shuffle inside to hold.
