You painted a vivid enough picture of what was going on and managed to keep what in all honesty appeared early - and remained throughout, from the sound of it - a fairly boring contest still interesting enough to follow for me to be glued to my phone for the entire train ride...and halfway through my Vietnamese pork vermicelli. ("Oh, nothing dear, just keeping up on the weather to be sure the skies don't open up on us on the way to the show...") :yep

 

Safe to say the evening belonged to Jon Thain and Matthew Hall?

Even with Crolla and Simmons both doing enough to register shutouts, the really impressive performances were from the victors at 154 lbs.

If the Mancunian doesn't soon get his now-due shot against Prince Arron for whatever reason - or gets one, and loses - how about him vs. the Scot? :hey

Hall has the experience and grit; Thain the youth and talent (and five inches). I'd say where they are in their careers and given recent form it's actually not far off from being a competitive proposition in maybe the back end of 2012. For Hall it would be sort of a "one last hurdle to jump or retire for good" and for Thain it would be "are you a man or a muppet?? (or a manly muppet or a muppet of a man?)"
