He was expected to fight, something he found out very quickly that he was completely unable to do. Against the first opponent above the Jason Quigley level he fought. Stop making excuses for this loud-mouth just because you want to pretend he doesn't suck.

A two-weight champion who never fought a champion and found reason to avoid fighting Lara, Jacobs, the Charlos, Janibek, and Zack Parker, all while claiming that GGG and Canelo (lmao) ducked him. That last one is especially laughable, and to believe it you would have to be an absolute dolt-and-a-half. Here's how we know this for an absolute fact; Andrade was WBO champion. Canelo was WBO champion (along with the rest) at a higher weight. Want to know this awesome thing WBO champions can do? Surrender their title in exchange for being able to move up (or down) a weight class and skip ahead of the mandatory. It's literally how Inoue skipped ahead of everyone to fight Stephen Fulton.

He never did that. "Canelo ducked him" my ass.

Stop championing a loser who ****-talked real fighters who actually did something, bro. Like fight and beat people who were world champions.

Some thought he would be a fool to take the boo boo fight.
    Self belief,
I think he could take Morel honestly.

I don't think David even got out of 2nd gear tonight to be honest. Just warming up. He is a monster.

If you think Benavidez is comparable to Smith you need to stop talking about boxing. Smith got cooked by Ryder the fight before he fought Canelo

Canelo couldn't stop Ryder or an inactive 154 pounder but he stops Benavidez right? This is delusion talking. Make the fight.

Booboo made a very good fight while he could, but he was caught and demolished, as expected.

I think that booboo is more skilled than most of the forum thinks, but at 35 there is nothing to do vs a 27yo monster like benavidez.

Had booboo been 27.... and paying a huge toll in blood..... maybe, only maybe, he could have pulled a decision (and after the fight I'm not sure anymore), but being 35.....

Very good referee warning booboo's corner. He spared us a totally unecessary execution and some permanent brain damage to andrade. I liked the referee very much during the whole fight, it's good to say when a referee does a good job, not only when they **** up.

PS: top notch punch selection by benavídez, btw. He's more skilled than it seems at first sight. He disguises his punches like a master. Looking forward to watching him fighting canelo.

Very good fight overall. Top quality boxing and entertaining show at the same time.

I see where you're coming from, but not being able to stop other guys doesn't necessarily mean he can't do it to Benavidez. Ryder's a pretty sturdy guy whose lone stoppage loss arguably came prematurely and Charlo came to do nothing but survive. Despite that, Canelo was able to floor both and hurt them at a few points. I doubt Canelo would stop Benavidez from head shots because he seems to have a pretty good chin, but he's open to body work and it seems to have the most effect on him. Even this over the hill Canelo had pretty good pop and decent enough body work, so that's why I back him to win via late body shot stoppage should they ever meet.

That said, I wouldn't mind at all being wrong. Just as long as the damn fight gets made I'll be happy. Him and Morrell are the most attractive options at 168 right now, and neither fight needs to be put off any longer. Damn sure prefer those to big Charlo or blown up Terence Crawford

Canelo is going to get stopped by Benavidez. Even with the amount of PEDs Canelo has clearly taken, the monster is a different beast. Canelo has taken the easy route and when he takes a challengile he will lose, again. He tried to outwait GGG but still got clearly beaten, twice. Got outboxed by 12 rounds against Bivol. Has ducked Benavidez, Andrade, Charlo (the bigger one) and others. He is a product of boxing corruption, that's all.

Agree. Benavidez is a class above that over hyped basic euro fighter. He has cooked Bivol in sparring from all accounts and they have sparred alot. He would break down Bivol to the body and stop him, if Bivol ever dared to fight him.
