Canelo would be gassed RN if that was him and not Ellis.

Being squared up like Benavidez works because he's tall, keeps his hands up, elbows tucked, and it's tough to reach his head clean or hook around the guard when he has you pressed.

Benavidez started landing with real consistency from the sixth onward and he's put a beating on Ellis ever since landing a lot of heavy clean shots with great accuracy with that beautiful offence of his. Ellis is hard as nails a very game but that's what Benavidez does to you - he beats you up bad and has his opponent's corner concerned for their mans safety in the second half of the fight. You just can't stand in front of Benavidez for long when he's in his groove because you're going to take an ass-whooping.

Loads of credit to Ellis. He’s not looking for a way out. He’s shown a lot of chin and heart tonight. Respect.

Corner has to stop it. Wtf?

    edit: ref stops it, mercifully.

****, no quit in Ellis, but good stoppage. You don't want that kind of punishment late in the fight from an accumulation power puncher.

Ellis made a fan out of me. He could of looked for a way out way earlier.

Ellis stock up in defeat. DB is an offensive whirlwind. And huge for the division.

There’s no way Canelo gets anywhere near Benavidez

His corner should've pulled him out sooner because he took an awful lot of heavy shots. Teak-tough and game as they come though. Benavidez is one seriously ruthless and mean SOB in between those ropes.

I actually think Canelo better Benavidez.

Benavidez is too slow on his feet and his power punches are so telegraphic.

Canelo would have finished Ellis in three rounds tops.
