kid is fierce, but he fights on instinct and emotion, and hes gonna need more than that if he ever faces canelo. i didnt really see any strategy other than to let his hands go, would have liked to have seen a somewhat more cerebral approach.

Benavidez is a bad style match-up for Canelo, who I still don't think has a good gas tank.

Obviously Canelo's defense is much better than Ellis but regardless Benavidez will make him work.

I'll be very curious to see, because there are some flashes of something other than being big and throwing punches well. It's whether he takes things seriously long term to develop that.

Not a chance low-volume Canelo stops him earlier. Benavidez was landing clean combos and Ellis wouldn't go down.

I wouldn't argue with Canelo late, but 3 rounds? Nah.

I feel like the Charlo fight would be a slightly more competitive version of what we just saw

I also see how Benavidez plays into Canelo's style. I don't think you can just walk in like that at Canelo with no head movement. Also, Canelo will test that body too. On the flip side, Benavidez is a beast and you need stamina and skill to get to him. Canelo has all that plus power that Benavidez can't play around with. That's a great pressure vs counter style match-up.

Remember, its the shot you don't see coming that hurts you. Benavidez is slow. And his quick flurries didn't do any damage.

Benavides looked pretty good on offense aside from that wind up on some of his power punches, I think the guys at the next couple of levels up deal with that better than Ellis does. I do think a Canelo fight would be fun to watch, I think Charlo should stay where he is, this isn't a good fight for him.

Canelo would have finished **** all there, if Avni Yildirim the chinless, spineless Turkish warrior couldn't be taken out in three rounds (corner stoppage isn't being taken out) then Ellis goes the distance.

    Round 1 Gausha 10-9

Largely a feel out round, Terrell controlling the range quite well and occasionally leaping in to land a looping right on the southpaw Clark.

Round 2 Gausha wins by KO

Gausha and Clark both quite hesitant to throw, Clark shooting out his lefts here and there, Terrell bouncing out of range, causing him to miss most of them. Gausha lands a heavy straight right on the button, Clark takes it well, a few seconds later Clark lunges in slightly, eats another clean straight right to the chin, he g0oes down in a heap, with his right arm almost under him. He makes it back up, he's very wobbly, he ref should probably stop it. It's allowed to continue, Gausha jumps on him, lands another hard right sending him sailing back into the corner, Gausha starts to unload, the ref steps in to spare him any further punishment.

Not trying to be mean here, but Cruz looks like he might have a touch of Down Syndrome.
