WHAT THE HECKKKKKKKK Haymon is really making a mockery out of Dirrell's career man Anthony Dirrell hasnt fought ANYONE of note since losing to Badou Jack Abie Han, a career middleweight who has never beaten anybody, got stopped by Glen Tapia, lost to the very vulnerable Fernando Guerrero and lost to the 2015 version of Sergio Mora. Abie Han, who I watched lose to Guerrero in a fun fight at Stubhub, has had exactly one fight at 168 to J Leon love which ended via TD draw. Dirrell is going to put a beating on Han and it wont be pretty. I always believed that Anthony Dirrel would go further than Andre who has just retired. But man, his management is absolute trash.
Han isn't terrible, he knows the basics well enough and has a background in combat sports. He's only an okay puncher however, and seems to have among the worst luck of any active fighter in the past several years. He's been a part of some straight up bull**** before that's probably done nothing but impede his career....
I like Han and I hope i didnt sound like I was trashing him BUT HE HAS NO BUSINESS FIGHTING ANTHONY DIRRELL. NONE. DIRREL is going to smash Han and it wont be pretty
Nah, Direll can be a very slow starter and Abraham knows how to box and move well enough to make this one go several rounds at least. You've got to remember that Direll doesn't exactly have a ... very flattering resume.
He doesn’t but he still disposes of C level opponents in very good fashion. Caleb Truax got wrecked, the same one that went 12 with Jacobs and beat Degale
Maybe his best career win, to be honest, in terms of how dominating it was. What else has Direll really done? He squeaked over the finish line, going life and death against a Saiko Bika who had seen better days. He was...... kind of competitive to a Badou Jack who never seemed to have to get out of first gear. I don't know. I just don't see it. I think his brother was the clearly more talented fighter.
Don't really know if I'd agree with that. Andre accomplished plenty considering the inconsistent nature of his performances at times in his career. He battered a prime Arthur Abraham to the canvas and was a mile ahead of him in their match before the infuriating ending. Knocking the stern Abraham down is something some very, very good fighters have failed to even come close to accomplishing. He also really should have no worse than a draw against one of the premiere super middleweights of all time, in Carl Froch. And then just barely slipping up against a peaking James Degale while his own prime was winding down, keeping it close despite two catastrophic early knockdowns. He really doesn't have a terrible resume, he accomplished plenty.
I guess I can agree to an extent with this. But I feel the talent that they have shown, the level they can fight on, has been wasted with inactivity and poor matchmaking. In an era of 5 titles per weight class, yes, they have become titlist. And while that's not an accomplishment to scoff at, it's not the same as being a world champ. I like the Dirrell bros. Just wish they weren't affiliated with Haymon, their careers might have gone further.
