Headlining a PBC on FS1 show on Saturday in Minneapolis. Vacant super middleweight WBC title at stake. Yıldırım is currently ranked #2 by the WBC, directly behind Dirrell - who previously held the belt in 2014 and dropped it to Badou Jack in his first defense in 2015.
Garbage fight for a world title, neither deserves to be called world champion. Probably better for boxing if Yildirum wins as he will not try and hold the belt hostage over at the PBC. But we all know that this fight is all set up to make Dirrell a two time world champion
Honestly, can't believe I'm saying this but as of Sunday morning the IBO will officially have a far more legitimate champ at super middleweight (in the DeGale vs. Eubank winner for that vacant strap) than will the WBC (in the winner of this fight).
it shouldnt be for a belt . dirrell is a good fighter and worthy of being a champion but hes gonna knock this guy out.
You are right, it shouldn't be for a belt but Dirrell is definentely not worthy. If I had to pick, I am picking a Yildirim ko.
You know, I said that Dirrell vs. Jack was going to be a whitewash blowout as well. I think you did as well, based on the Edwards KO. Who's to say Yildirim didn't just have one of those weird nights? Its not like Dirrell is some huge puncher, and just loves to not deliver, almost as if he strives to under perform. If Avni can drag him into a war, he might be able to win this. That being said, even if he does, he isn't going to actually win without KOing Anthony.
Watch out for this guy during the pre-fight press conference This content is protected As for the fight, I don't think Avni Yildirim has what it takes to beat Dirrell. As long as Dirrell avoids getting into a war, he should win a confortable decision. Although Avni made a good move changing his trainer recently. He works with Harold Knight, now. If Knight improved some of his skills, he might pull something off. He's very strong and durable despite what you'd think if you only watched him vs Eubank. But he always had 1 plan and 1 plan only; pressure. We'll see how he'll perform under a new trainer.
this anthony were talking about. not andre. anthony dirrell is a worthy champion. hes a very good boxer. and hes gonna beat the yildrim easy. and andre is a good boxer to but hes just lacking something. not as good as anthony.
Shouldn't be for a world title but it's an OK fight. Dirrell should still have too much for Yildrim. Expecting a coasted 12 round decision
Yildirim is a total bum. He has no skills, no boxing brain, a glass chin and a damn padded record (lost to Mock recently but got a gift decision). If Dirrell can't beat that guy, he should retire immediately. Dirrell KO 5-8.
