Assumption 1: even if the rematch is close, Dirrell gets the belt via Haymon scorecards. Bika might be a Haymon guy himself, Al might see more profits in marketing Dirrell. Bika goes back to gatekeeper, non-title holder status.

Assumption 2: Groves wins his next fight and gets a WBC title fight on Showtime after Sauerland loses the purse bid.

LOL @ those who will post about Andre Dirrell, I know some of you will...

    How does Dirrell-Groves go? :bbb

I think Tony just doesnt have the workrate to hang with Groves.

Assuming Dirrel gets the nod this time(he threw the fight by not fighting in the 12th), he'd be overwhelmed by Groves who doesnt stop punching.

I used to rate Tony Dirrel as a big puncher, but he's obviously not in the same league as Froch, Kessler, Abe, Bute, etc as a puncher.

I think Groves would probably stop him. But I figure Tony Dirrel would want a crack at unification vs Froch before he took on Groves. revenge for Dre would be priority.:think

    Oh, and ftr......

Gilberto Sanchez is the best SMW campaigning today. Being a Mexican and working his way up through the WBC and WBA rankings, he'll likely get the first mandatory vs Bika/Dirrel winner. And he'd KO either one of em.:yep

He is, but he essentially gave the first fight away, and I think Flashy is assuming he pulls off the win in the rematch.

But its really a mute point, a good fight, but a mute point since Sanchez is Lucian Bute without stamina issues and lack of confidence.:yep:yep:yep

    In other words.....Sanchez<Calzaghe/RJJ/JLOT/SRR:deal:deal:deal

Got the chin of Froch or Chavez Jr.....the style and power of Bute, the craftiness of Ward, and the aggressiveness of Kessler.

    He's the complete package.

Though, at 28, he's not a spring chicken to just be breaking onto the scene. But he should be fast tracked to the WBC title, and he'll dominate and stop either Bika or Dirrel.

I could be wrong.....I was wrong on Bute but not so much in terms of skills....he bottled it vs Froch and has been leery since.

Sanchez looks like he LOVES to trade. I can't see him being Bute'd.....but I could be wrong.:think

His BoxRec profile lists him as being 23. Is that wrong?

if it was the Groves before the Froch fights, i'd have no hesitation in picking him to bang Dirrell out. but after the KO to Froch, is George going to ever be the same again??

we'll be finding out soon enough. but for now, i'll say 50/50.
