Because he’s disingenuous and constantly seeking pats on the back. The need for validation, especially for doing ‘good deeds’ is very clear to see.

I think the whole seeking validation for charitable acts just rubs people up the wrong way. Saying that, I think his heart is in the right place - he just lacks self awareness.
Maybe mate but thats it, lacking a bit of self awareness doesnt mean your an absolute ****. I just feel little weird cults of dislike grow up around certain people as everyone jumps on the bandwagon, it grew around the fitzy fight. He wasnt the first fighter to be arrogant and confident before a fight and wont be the last. I dont think everyone has to like him like, just feel the level of disdain is way out of proportion to his character or actions, worst man in boxing etc the hyperbole and hysterics is weird in discussions at times, well bigger ****s in the game. I agree with you, bit cringey etc at times but seems a good guy deep down
Fair post. I think he rode the wave of Matchroom/Sky Olympians turning pro but without the media training. That meant his social media activity wasn’t as polished. I do think he’s improved in the last year or so, but he was unbearable a couple of years back. A really annoying man.
Ironic that in the real world he's turned out to be a far less disdainful character than Fitzgerald...
Yeah I agree with the last few posters. He is cringy at times but his heart is in the right place and he doesn't give off an arrogant vibe like say Conor Benn does. The two are worlds apart in their demeanor and how they carry themselves. I've been very critical of Fowler's asslicking abilities but he does seem like he's a good guy. He doesnt take himself too seriously like Conor Benn does.
I know boxers have to use social media platforms to generate interest in there careers and that's what he does........ but it's like he lacks social awareness and comes out with some serious cringe. The way he was in the lead up to the Fitz fight didn't help either added to the fact he lost the fight. Everyone then jumped all over him. I think he probably is a good lad to be honest but as I say, often on social media he just comes across as a bit odd.
meh most people dont dislike someone for no reason. i think fowler is too cocky and doesnt deliver in the ring.
I like Fowler. He seems all right to me. The vast majority of 'trendy' people come across like absolute tits on social networking sites, and these are just your average Joe's with day jobs who are trying to project a cool image. Fowler wouldn't even make it into my top 99% of cringeworthy behaviour on social networking sites. Funny how people were so up Fitzgerald when it's now clear that the guy is an absolute scumbag. People on here like Chisora, and he's about as cringeworthy and scummy as they come.
