You probably are under the impression that Dirrell, The Petersons and Ward are going to be top world class material one day. Fair enough, but haven't you downgraded Gamboa's train, even though he has more potential than all listed above?
Dirrell UD (head) Hanshaw KO (heart) Honestly, I can't get the Stevens fight out of my head. Disgraceful, acting like he was a prime Roy Jones. But here's the thing, not only did he showboat, he ran. I prefer Anthony Dirrell over Andre. Equal speed, much greater power, and fan friendly. However, Anthony's suffering from lymphoma right now, so I wish him all the best.
No I didnt, I said I didnt see what many others seen in him. what I have seen is a banger, I have not seen an ablity to fight another way. I think that fighters like Gamboa are limited with what they can do when it comes time to face top level guys. However I will admitt that I have only seen one fight of his, so I cant really be to solid in my thoughts of the guy, I really need to see more of him.
I liked Hanshaw at 168 and thought he was hurt by the additional weight against Jones. Dirrell should beat him based on talent, but he'll have to engage more frequently than he did in his last bout. This is a huge bout for him to regain some lost faith from the fans. I liked Dirrell better than Ward as an AM, but Ward seems to have progressed more rapidly as a pro. Andre needs to step it up this weekend.
I just found out that Hanshaw beat Floyd Mayweather, Kelly Pavlik, and Sergio Mora, in the amateurs. He said that he and Floyd split 2 fights ... I still think that Dirrell is going to win ... he's from Michigan and us Michigan guys aren't easily moved. Dirrell is going to show the big difference in speed and show the superior boxing skills. There's a reason why Hanshaw has all this amateur experience and has yet to be in line for a title shot.
Yeah I just saw the video too. I bet not many people know about that. Before he fought Roy I remember him talking about fighting Taylor and Pavilk but he never mentioned Flyod.
