How many think that because Joshua lost to a 260 pound Ruiz that means guys like 6'0 170 pound Gene Tunney, 5'10 180 pound Rocky Marciano, 5'11 150-160 pound Bob Fitzsimmons could beat him? According to the people in the Classic Forums these guys could.

Everyone who thinks a 160-180 pound fighter could beat 250 pound Joshua DKSAB.

They have no idea what they're writing about.

Lol agreed. Just go to the Classic part of this forum. You will laugh your butt off. One of these Rocky Marciano fans stated that the 6'3 1/2 230 pound George Foreman would be too small to compete with modern sized heavyweights which is funny since Foreman is a modern sized heavyweight who fought until the late 90's. But the same person stated that 5'10 180 pound Rocky Marciano could compete against modern sized heavyweights and beat guys like George Foreman, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko and Anthony Joshua. Funny stuff.

Some of those guys are suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect, if you don‘t know what that is then google it.

With Marciano, it's not just a matter of size, his skills are lacking and he is slow. When he moved to the left, he often moved his right foot first, crossing his feet and leaving himself off balance. When he moved forward he moved his back foot to within inches of his front foot, again leaving himself off balance. Marciano might have been the best of his time, but that time has passed. I don't think that Marciano, exactly as he was in his prime could be competitive with 168 pound champion, Callum Smith today. Smith would have a huge height, speed, and skills advantage, and when he rehydrated he would probably have a weight advantage too.

I have only seen short films of Fitzsimmons, definitely not competitive today, and I haven't seen a lot of Tunney, but he didn't look impressive either. The first impressive old time fighters I've seen on video were from the early 60s (Carter vs. Benton).

Well since Marciano was champion there have been no 5'10 180 pound heavyweight champions so size plays a huge part why he couldn't compete against modern heavyweights but everything else I agree with you 100 percent.

Marciano could possibly be a cruiser weight champ with his power, strength, ferocious pace and stamina. POSSIBLY. If they had a 185 division The Brockton Blockbuster would dominate that no doubt.

But at heavyweight beating guys like Usyk, Fury and a couple others... I doubt it. It would basically be the equivalent of sticking SRR in with Gassiev or Usyk. It wouldn’t be good for Ray. Lol Fighters no matter how legendary have their limits.

Oh that Ruiz guy was only 100 pounds heavier and 4 inches taller than that other guy 638 years ago, i think he could do the same.

Horrible comparison. Usyk is 6’4” and will be a 215-220 HW. Marciano was 5’9” and 185lbs fighting at HW with the reach of Canelo.
