Lennox's opponent was the only one who actually had decent technique and looked like a boxer.

Joshua was rocked and needed a blatant hometown gift to win Olympic gold. He'll get that glass shattered much like David Price

Yeah, I can see that Joshua has all the makings of a long reigning dominant heavyweight Champion. He dominated all of his competition as an amateur.

Look at all these scared yanks! They are crapping it! Joshua will eat their fighters for dinner. Wilder would get knocked out like a b1tch by Joshua!

Pity we probably won't see him destroy a Klitschko. It's going to be hard on any future champion to get the credit they deserve, without beating the lineal champion. Joshua is indeed a future ATG.

The divison needs new blood. Johshua, who was lucky to get past Savon with bad juding in the Olympics ( sorry its true ) rates as a very good prospect for sure!

I agree, he's a super heavy with excellent good speed and skills. The power is very good, but not excellent. He has heart. No for the part you don't want to hear. He was KO'd twice in the amatuers by decent level punchers. Joshua had a short amatuer career, but proved he was among say the 3-4 best super heavies. Can he take it as a pro? How is his long term stamina? IMO, he'd needs work on defense because I know the chin is just OK.

If managed correctly he's good enough to win a belt in a post Klitschko divison. He's not the next Lennox Lewis! He's not the next Audley Harrison either. I would say he's on the level of say Tony Tucker.

Lennos Lewis didn't have the greatest of chin's either. So to suggest he cannot be on par is ludicrous.

I watched all of Lennox Lewis's early fights, and he looked very raw, and was heavily criticized. It was until he beat Gary Mason here in the UK that he was really backed as a world title hope, and then still only a hope.
No one thought LL was a sure-fire bet to be a champion when he turned pro.

Anthony Joshua is certainly a good prospect. Remember, he only started boxing a few years ago, when he was 17 or 18.
Lennox Lewis, when he debuted, had been to two olympics and had been an international amateur for as long as Joshua's even been boxing.

Like any fighter, the odds are against Joshua. But he's got as good a chance as any.

Way to early to make any serious predictions.

Yes he's clearly a physical specimen, big, tall, decent speed for a big man and seems to have the fundamentals down. He also has shown nothing but a good chin as an amateur no question marks regarding his durability like Price or Khan when they turned pro.

But boxing is much more complicated than just being big and athletic. Look at Wlad he was bigger, faster, hit harder than most yet was losing to journeymen and fringe contenders before he really learned how to box effectively.

Let's see what his stamina is like, how he deals with adversity, if he can fight in close at all, can he clinch and hold when needing to survive, can he learn from his mistakes, can he remain disciplined and focused, can he adapt in the ring?

Lewis hit MUCH harder, and went to finishing school by participating in two Olympics. Joshua lacks the power and the experience.

    Like David Price before him.
